We recently connected with Tiara Rivard and have shared our conversation below.

Tiara, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

What inspired me to start my business TutuAmore was my love for fashion my children and wanting to be my own boss, and better example to my children. Also the inspiration and motivation I had around me filled me with great ideas and I wanted that for me. I feel like this is my passion my calling and I’m supposed to do more with my life and business as I will, just one step at a time. I felt it would work because of my love for fashion and how I enjoyed making things dealing with crafts and fashion. I never gave up and my talent speaks for itself. What gets me most excited about my business is the future customers and plans I have for my business, can’t wait to share it with the world.

Tiara, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am a mom of 3 and a wife. I enjoy dancing , fashion, food, laughing, and just trying new things. I enjoy being a mom and including them in the exciting things I do with my business and life. My girls love for dress up and dance gave me the idea to make custom items, and my love for fashion as well. I started to think what type of business I could start that includes all of that and ding TutuAmore started to become a vision. I disciplined myself by pushing myself and never giving up. My business provides custom apparel for birthdays and events that make girls and now boys (items coming soon) feel special and stunning. Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I worked at hotels and daycares to put together the initial capital to fund and start my business. It wasn’t easy but nothing in life is, just gotta work hard and continue to fight for the things you want in life and what’s important to you. For me it’s being the best entrepreneur I can be and an even better example for my children doing what I love and enjoy. I encourage everyone to never give up and pursue your dreams no matter what the trials and tribulations are, you got this and god got you.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to unlearn self doubt, procrastination, and letting people dim my light cause they couldn’t do something or something didn’t workout for them. I got better with everything by journaling , praying , reading my Bible , pushing myself to handle business and just think I wanna be somebody who my kids can be proud of and self encouragement was also a big part of it.
