We recently connected with Tiara Ma’rei and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tiara thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s imagine that you were advising someone who wanted to start something similar to you and they asked you what you would do differently in the startup-process knowing what you know now. How would you respond?
First, I would spend less time worrying about HOW it was going to get done and more time exercising the faith I grew to have today. Back then I spent energy and time being fearful about being rejected, misunderstood or not good enough because of insecurities no one else thought but me. If I could go back I would take the power and courage I’ve always had deep inside of me and live bold and fearlessly.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I grew up in a small town in Mississippi and every since I could remember I’ve always had a dream to living in a big city and be an artist. After numerous setbacks and learning lessons, I moved to New York to pursue my dream of being a fashion photographer. While in New York, I worked with notable brands and businesses like Milk Studios, and AD Campaigns for Vogue, Adidas and more with photographer Alexi Lumbermirski. After learning the business I decided to move to Atlanta to open up a creative studio where I could help creatives, brands and businesses execute their creative goals.
My Creative Studio provides creative direction, production design and content creation. I help brands figure out the look, feel, story and aesthetic while pulling in the key pieces to make it all come together.
.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I’m on a journey with God creating art together.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to properly learn how to speak life into myself. I had to learn to see the greater good in every situation regardless of how I wish the outcome would’ve been. Our words are magic and with our words we can either bring forth great things or stay in a place of low vibration, negativity, fear or sadness.
