We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tiana Heath a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tiana , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The first time I knew I wanted to be a host had to be my senior year in High School. It was either go to college to do forensic science or study for radio and television. I choose the radio and television route ten years ago because I was always curious to know about an individual’s lives and how they started. Then, I knew I can master the television aspect and later merge my crime passion into my work.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
I am the host & creator of two shows. One called “ Tee Talk” and the other is a crime docu-series “ Missing on Long Island”. Tee Talk, I started in 2012 which is an interview series. I’ve conducted over two hundred interviews including R&B singer Bobby V, R&B group 112, Rapper Twista, and many more. My most recent venture, Missing on Long Island, is an investigative YouTube series with a mission to highlight strange disappearances while helping victims families. My goal within both shows is to highlight individuals whether it’s their breakout story on their journey to success or help families gain closer to their missing loved one.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’ve built my audience on social media by connecting with people on and off the internet. I’ve went to plenty of networking events and shared my passion with those reaching to attain a goal, which is to be successful in this particular media driven industry. Now many will ask so what about in the pandemic? I’ve messaged people personally in my field willing to network, connect and share the same values. Social media can be helpful for your future if you use it the right way..
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal in my creative journey is to help people. I always said in life you’ll always be known for helping someone whether it’s to creative a platform for them to shine or just hear them out. Helping individuals with their creative journeys as well as mine has been rewarding. It feels great to be the platform people come on.
