We were lucky to catch up with Tiana Davis recently and have shared our conversation below.

Tiana, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

So I’m a tarot reader and love doing readings for others personally and for The Collective on my YouTube channel. I have a million tarot decks and am an avid collector myself something about them is extremely satisfying for me haha like the feel of the cards, shuffling them, the energy coming off of them, everything.

One day I became friends with a seller on Etsy that makes gorgeous tarot decks, and she’s the one that put the idea into my head of creating my own deck and she even gave me the info for the connect that she uses for creating hers like the printing company and feedback on the card designs and supporting me buying readings and other products of mine from my shop and leaving reviews. I’m in the process of creating my first tarot deck and I love that it’ll be a tangible product people can have from my mind that I’m hoping will help give them guidance and clarity in their respective journeys, and it’s exciting to think of people feeling about my tarot deck the way I feel about ones that I have that have become favorites of mine.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hi Everyone! My name is Tiana ‘Divinergy’, and it’s a pleasure to e-meet all of you :) so how did I get started in the business of being a tarot reader/energy healer?

I’ve always been infatuated with magic and the idea and possibility of being a witch (Harry Potter books were my jam!) lol so it’s no surprise that I became a tarot reader and got into divination/metaphysics. My ex is actually the one that purchased my first deck for me. We thought we were gonna be cute and like, pick a card everyday to embody as we were long distance Lolol but I ended up beginning giving my friends readings just 3 cards to begin and I was incredibly accurate, so I started doing 7 and then eventually 10 card readings and getting into clarifiers and at this point I’ve done well over 100 personal readings and am in the process of growing my YouTube channel as a reader on there also.

From tarot I branched into becoming an Usui Reiki Master and practitioner and have a popular Airbnb group reiki experience that has tons of 5 star reviews and I love it. It’s so beautiful seeing people have different experiences from interacting with one universal energy source and I love introducing people to reiki. From reiki I became interested in numerology/astrology and eventually tapped into my ancestors and Creole roots and practice Hoodoo as well. What I love the most about magic is that there’s always something new to learn and try, and as a Sagittarius moon and rising and Leo sun, you can guess how curious and open to new things and adventures that I am. Lol.

As far as my business is concerned, I’m in the process of creating my first tarot decks to sell on my Etsy shop, as well as growing my YouTube channel with readings, along with vlogging my adventures as a digital nomad, which I will be starting my adventure in a few weeks in Johannesburg South Africa!

I am most proud of being able to show women that you can be multi-faceted and still be a boss that is operating from your Divine Feminine energy and essence and attracting and creating the life of your dreams. If I can do it, you can too!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

The biggest lesson I’ve had to unlearn as a woman in the world of business is the act of needing to behave and operate as a man or in my masculine energy to get ahead. That I need to hustle, compete, outperform, be aggressive, confident, etc. Honestly, that’s why so many beautiful women I know are stressed out and struggling now is because of this mentality/philosophy. I myself am learning how to operate in my Divine Feminine energy and how much easier it is to flow with life when I do that.

Throughout my childhood, I was always labeled as the Tomboy because I liked sports and didn’t mind getting dirty or being competitive. And that energy carried and stayed with me as I grew into adulthood, and because of this, I’ve had a much harder path than was necessary. I was bad at accepting help and love and support and always operated from a sense of hyper-independence, and that caused me to burnout and become depressed and eventually suicidal.

Connecting to my feminine energy has helped me to attract more opportunities, people, and resources to me than I ever did when I was burning myself out running on the Hollywood hamster wheel. It showed me that my value and worth can be attached to being soft and sensual and increasing my divine feminine energy so that I can attract the things I need to me instead of going out to get it. It is my desire to help as many women tap into their inner divinity and begin to use it to manifest, magnetize, and receive the love/support they need to live a life of beauty, comfort, and enjoyment. Because lord knows they deserve it just as much as I do!

Have you ever had to pivot?

So in my 20’s, I was well on my way to being a very successful commercial model. I was booking National commercials and global campaigns and working with big brands like Nike, Honda, MTV, HBO, etc. But the deeper I got into Hollywood and going to auditions and having to constantly put my best foot forward physically and not spiritually, I started to become drained and disenchanted with the industry. I knew a piece of myself was missing, and after getting home from 2016 Olympic trials and splitting up with my then boyfriend, life hit me hard and forced me to ask myself that age-old question of: Who am I?

So in 2019, I packed up a few suitcases and left half of my things and sold my car and moved from Los Angeles to Atlanta. At the time I had no idea why. Spirit just called me there. Eventually, I found my love of pole dancing and dancing in general again, and got into being a tarot reader and energy healer/worker which I resonate so much more with. I’m much happier and fulfilled despite not yet making the kind of money I’d like or being in my business full-time. I can finally say I have found something I will do the rest of my life and be truly happy/fulfilled with it. And that, for me, is priceless.
