We were lucky to catch up with Tia LaCaze recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
It started out when I first my husband. I had just ventured from Modeling to Acting, and he was writing books and plays. So we put our heads together, and came up with the idea of using my Acting background and his writing background, and created LaCaze Films. We started our first project ” Save Me From Me” in 2015. We ran into alot bumps and bruises, which definitely became a learning experience from the cinematography aspect. We had an brilliant story as an 85 minute feature, but we were not pleased with the quality, so we never released it. As we continued through Trial and Error while making other short film projects, we got better and better each time. While we were perfecting our craft, several of our books written and published through LaCaze Films became Best Sellers. At the same time my Acting career was picking up being featured in projects Jacob’s Eye, The The Johnny Star story, appearing on Empire and my latest film Christmas On My Block. My personal success as an Actress, combined with the success of the books that my husband was putting out, opened doors with distributors for our very first Feature Film Black Couples Fantasy to be released. Those bumps and bruises that we took we our first project payed off. We were able to hire an actual production team to film the project. If ever thing goes as planned it should be out in early August 2022.

Tia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Where do I start. As I said before my first love was dance. As a child throughout high school I always saw myself as dancer/ choreographer. I started off dancing with Dallas Power House early 2000’s straight out of college. That opportunity opened doors to be able dance in a Pepsi Commercial and music videos. Just as my dancing career started to boom, I got pregnant. With pregnancy comes weight gain. With weight gain come depression. I slowly saw my dreams fading away. I blamed myself for not fighting through it, but I settled into being a mom, wife, and just living. One day someone asked me to be in a Stage Play, in which I had to act, dance, and sing. All of these things are in my will house. The feeling I got being on stage brought back all those creative juices that I thought I had lost. I got in shape and started Modeling for exposure. During this time my first marriage was ending, which drove me to focus more on my career and my kids. I begin to be asked to be apart of more Modeling events, more Stage Plays, and what really got my Acting juices flowing was when I did the Stage Play The Devil is a Lya part 1 and 2. Now I was at a point in my life where I could see a future in the industry again. I started dating my husband, who is now my business partner in LaCaze Films. As our Company began to make waves, I now went from being casted as an extra to staring in roles such as Jacob’s Eye, The Johnny Star story, Christmas On My Block, and of course our film Black Couples Fantasy.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I followed him on Facebook when he was a Mental Health Counselor. He is actually jack of all trades. He owned a night club, and knew I modeled, so he invited me to a Model showcase that was being held at his club. That was our very first encounter of many more to follow years later.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe my work ethic, dedication, ability to pay attention to detail, and my punctuality.
