We were lucky to catch up with Tia Jones recently and have shared our conversation below.

Tia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?

I would teach students about being more self-sufficient. There’s a lot of things that students don’t learn until they are out on their own. Many students don’t learn about taxes , how to purchase a home , how to budget your money or how to navigate banking in America. I know a lot of my peers and myself would gain from knowing about many of these things. There should be a class in high school that will help better prepare kids for the real world.

We are Trinketsbyt93 we produce custom items to everyday people. We offer service in items from T-shirts to flyers. If you need help getting something customized we can help you. No matter the quantity. We started out making only Keychains and handmade Jewelry. Most recently we started making custom Rugs.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

The main lesson I had to unlearn is I can do everything myself. Running a business has taught me that I need help sometimes. Many of the times we try and prove our point that we are superhero’s but I’m learning that even superhero’s ask for help.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

My Top strategy is putting out good products and offering split payment plans. Word of mouth is how we’ve been growing our business. Social media has helped some but mainly word of mouth and referrals.
