We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tia Alaman . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tia below.
Tia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you have a hero? What have you learned from them?
My heroes would definitely have to be my family. They have taught me how important it is to never give up on yourself and even when trials arise persevere and push through! It’s only a moment in time and you’ll get through it on TOP! My parents specifically have always supported my dreams and made ways for me to pursue those dreams even sometimes to their demise. There were times where I would want to pursue certain jobs and make various different career moves. They would always support me physically and even financially no matter what it was. In turn sometimes I would choose to give up on those things completely and I would be on to the next opportunity if I wasn’t feeling it anymore. Most parents would think that was time wasted and money spent, but I would like to believe that in my parents supporting me the way they did pushed me into purpose! I am living out my dreams and I’m getting paid for it! They always knew and seen my potential and they believed In me and it paid off. As long as you have full support you’ll always make it to your DESTINation the place you were destined to be!

Tia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a woman who wears many hats! My most special brand that is near and dear to my heart would Have to be Tia TALKS “Where Tia TALKS”! Which is my social media platforms. Tia TALKS is my own little world where I say what’s on my mind, I make my world famous vlogs, and I also like to believe it’s my safe space. When I made Tia TALKS I told myself that I would post whatever I wanted, and that I would say whatever I wanted unapologetically. When I was younger I was bullied so bad that my voice was taken from me at a very young age, Tia TALKS gave me the confidence to speak up and say whatever was on my hear and mind. It started off on YouTube and spilled over into all my other social media platforms like Instagram , Tik tok, Snapchat, and even Twitter. Tia TALKS is a movement and it’ has opened many doors for me such as starring in music videos with stars like Javonte Rose, making content for companies like Nike and modeling for Cherri Cheeks Swim Apparel ,and even being the face for Sweat Now Drip Later owned by shantel Hansbrough! As I opened my mouth and spoke up for myself God allowed me to be the face for these amazing brands by just being me , Tia. My other hat would be real estate I’ve been doing real estate for over two years now and I absolutely love it. Real estate is the base of all wealth so it’s important to me to keep up and stay educated on all things real estate. My interest in real estate started with my Aunt/ Mentor Regina Hooks who has been in real estate for over 35 years she is a expert in all things real estate and she taught me everything I know! I went from helping her clean her office to I obtaining my own professional real estate license and closing over 30 deals with Mrs.Hooks in my first 2 years of my real estate career ! I work for a blacked owned brokerage in the city of Inglewood named Robert Pitts Estates a reputable real estate brokerage who has been around for quite sometime. My goal is to open the doors of homeownership to anybody with the goal of owning a home. Like I said real estate is the base of all wealth if you acquire real estate your setting yourself up to be wealthy, I specialize in making people rich!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
For most of my life I was always what people call the “underdog”. I walked around feeling purposeless not knowing what I was put down here on earth to do. I was never a straight A student In fact I was a college drop out. After dropping out of college I went through a very depressed state and I didn’t want to live anymore because I thought I had no purpose. It was in my my lowest moment that I ended up falling face down into my purpose. Sometimes you have to hit Rock bottom to really find who you are. If you are waking up every morning then you have purpose and things to do, it should be your goal to figure out what your calling is. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, you’ll be surprised at how much people can do for you! Closed mouths don’t get fed, open up that mouth and figure out how to achieve your biggest dream! You can do it , I promise!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by being me. The more authentic you are the more people gravitate towards you. People on social media hate seeing the same thing duplicated over and over. I think that the more people stay in there lanes the better social media is to enjoy. I like to believe that social media was made to let each individual person express themselves in whatever way they choose for others to enjoy and that’s how I run my page. There is no other Tia Marae Alaman so there is no one on this green earth that will put out content the way I do. Once I started to make vlogs about my everyday life, showing my family life , and even just sharing my talents and gifts about all things beauty is when my audience really increased and I started to see a support base building. From there it took off and they looked forward to seeing what T was doing, when I was gone too long they would messages me and make sure I was good. If I was never me unapologetically and authentically me my audience would have never connected with me on a personal level.
