We were lucky to catch up with Thuy Nguyen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Thuy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share a story with us from back when you were an intern or apprentice? Maybe it’s a story that illustrates an important lesson you learned or maybe it’s a just a story that makes you laugh (or cry)?
While I was in school and learning from different providers, I realized what a privilege it is to be able to be there for patients during very difficult times. There was a moment I was shadowing a doctor in the hospital during my clinical rotations, and he was giving a patient her prognosis. They trusted him so much and even asked him to pray for them. He was so kind and honest during this scary time, he told them the truth and they were so appreciative. I understood that they had been seeing this doctor for several years and he was going to upfront and honest with them. It was heartbreaking to imagine being in their shoes, but such a relief to see the hope and comfort they had while interacting with my mentor.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are a low-cost clinic in Katy, Texas and have been open for over 3 years now. We consider ourselves a Christian ministry, we do our best to provide our clients with the best possible service and experience. We also help patients navigate the medical system when it comes to where to get prescriptions, see specialists, as well as imaging centers that offer the best deals.
What makes me the proudest is when people take control of their health. The necessary changes made to minimize the need for daily meds, as well as empowering them to possibly eventually discontinue meds altogether.
Our staff is a team, we work together to elevate each other to reach our greatest potential.
We serve families of all ages and from various backgrounds. We see each person as a whole individual, body, mind and spirit.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
We have a strict policy of follow up calls. We make sure our clients get the meds they need and are progressing in the right direction. We try to make our instructions as clear as possible, so that there is no confusion regarding our treatment plan.
We believe that when our clients are satisfied, they will tell their loved ones, and they do!

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Prayer is instrumental, and communication is key. Every morning, our staff gets together to pray for one another as well as our specific burdens. We pray for the patients and students that come in as well. When we do this, there is a chance for further discussion openly or privately.
We do activities like runs, volunteer events and team building activities focused on our goals.
