We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Thunderstorm Artis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Thunderstorm below.
Hi Thunderstorm, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I was 18 when I decided that Music was going to be my career path, definitely wasn’t easy at first at all lol
I remember playing 4-8 hour gigs at hotel’s for just a couple hundred bucks
and busking on the street for whoever would stop to listen.
Being an artist in general is definitely risk
but the reward is definitely worth it in my book,
I have made more profit in this line of work than any other job I have taken on,
but besides that I believe as an artist, I have the beautiful opportunity to make someone’s day exponentially better.
I remember just a couple weeks ago I was on stage with The Zac brown band, just looking out at the audience
and there wasn’t stern face in the room, as an artist we have the opportunity to bring Joy and Positivity to a world that can be so negative at times,
but to get back to the question, all of my best moments in life have come from taking a risk, if you aren’t talking risk and trying something new, you will never see a change in your life. it’s important to try new things, and to not be afraid of making bad art.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I grew up in a very artistic family of 11 children on the north shore of Oahu, in this town called Haleiwa,
Playing music in our little shop, for anyone that would stop through.
you can find videos of us on YouTube under (Ron Artis Family Band)
That’s definitely how it all started for me, but now how it kept me going,
I believe everyone on this beautiful green earth is born with a purpose
and being an artist is definitely one of mine.
I have played on so many great stage’s in my life
and shared the stage with so many legendary Artist such as John Legend, Train, Jack Johnson, Zac brown, ect
the best lesson I have learned in my line of work, is that If you want to grow
Surround yourself with people who are better than you, it will keep you humble and promote growth in your work.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I would say Stream, Share about them on Socials, and show up to Concert’s. Those are the things that will really change an artist life and career path,
find an artist that you love and most of the time they can even be living in your hometown,
and come alongside them. this line of work is difficult but when you have your hometown on your side
it make such a huge difference for an artist.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Consistency is key make a schedule and keep it, and don’t be afraid to take chances and try something new.
you don’t need the worlds best camera to make the best content the videos of mine that I have done the best are the ones that were just the most organic,
