Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Thub Chaikaewsakulchai. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Thub, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
“Hi there! I’ve always followed my passions in life, which led me to video editing. I’m particularly drawn to it because of my love for movies and skateboarding videos. They’ve always fascinated me, so I decided to give video editing a shot. Learning the ropes of editing software and understanding what makes a great video has been quite a journey. I truly believe that starting with what you love is key to success in this field.
As an editor, I find joy in consuming various types of media. It’s not just entertainment; it’s a learning experience. Watching different videos exposes me to diverse editing styles and techniques. It’s incredible how I can immediately envision the editing style for a specific movie based on its genre or style. This exposure constantly inspires new ideas for my own editing projects.
In my experience, two crucial skills for a video editor are patience and listening. Dealing with feedback from clients or bosses can be challenging, but remaining patient and attentive is essential. Understanding their needs and vision is paramount in delivering satisfactory results. Patience and attentive listening have proven invaluable in navigating the demands of this profession.
Speaking of challenges, maintaining mental health is a significant concern for video editors. The creative nature of the job demands constant innovation and attention to detail. However, long hours without breaks can take a toll on one’s well-being. It’s essential to find balance and take breaks to prevent burnout. Prioritizing mental health ensures sustained creativity and productivity in this dynamic field.”

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I entered the industry through a recommendation from a friend who showcased my work to the studio’s head. Our studio is an Indian establishment embarking on the creation of our own streaming channel and original content tailored for Indian audiences and those interested in Indian culture. My role primarily revolves around visual aspects, where I’ve been instrumental in resolving various challenges encountered by our team. What I take immense pride in and what I want my future clients or followers to understand is my expertise in everything visual, from video editing to picture editing. I approach each task with professionalism and confidence, consistently delivering effective solutions to any visual-related issue that arises.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
One of the best things about being a creative person is getting to work in the creative world. Not everyone gets the chance to do that, so I feel really lucky. It’s just so rewarding to be able to express myself creatively and see my work come to life. I’m really grateful that people appreciate what I do and that I get to work on projects that inspire me.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is pretty simple, really. I just want to keep getting better in my creative career and take on more challenging projects along the way. I’m eager to learn and grow as much as I can, pushing myself to new limits with each opportunity that comes my way.
