We were lucky to catch up with Thomasina Young recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Thomasina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

Well, it started at home with my sons and Goddaughter; they all had eczema. We had tried everything the doctor told us to use, and nothing worked, so I decided to sit down and come up with a product that was not only organic and all-natural but that would work. I’ve always been fond of science and research, so through trial and error, I came up with the perfect product

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My business is an all natural skin and hair care product line every thing is handmade fresh to order and made by me I use all organic ingredients and most importantly it’s made with love what set me apart from others I keep things simple and true to my roots I don’t add chemicals or extra stuff to my products or try and keep up with the trends by keep it simple my customers know what to expect and what they’re using and don’t have to worry about having an allergic reaction because something new has been added motivation has gotten me where I’m at today I want to build a solid foundation for my boys something I can leave to them when I’m gone all of the no and closed doors pushed me to go harder I’ve never been a quitter I’ve always known I was destined for greatness and I wanted my kids to have something to be proud of their mom for I want the world to know that never give up even when things seems impossible still follow your dreams my motto is I aim to heal one body at a time and give people back their glow

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

So before i started making products, i was and still am a hairstylist, doing natural hair is what started the whole idea of creating hair products as well as skin products. The more clients i took, the more money i would put to the side for supplies and ingredients. Once I met my goal amount, i started buying everything i needed to start creating my products

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Well, the world we live in now is all about social media and word of mouth, so the key was to post consistently on Facebook, IG, and Snapchat, but i didn’t stop there. I even printed flyers to put in local businesses, and i participated in pop-up shops around town. I handed out samples along with my cards
