We were lucky to catch up with Thomas Ware recently and have shared our conversation below.

Thomas, appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.

One of the biggest risks that I have taken, is the risk of investing in myself. The risk factor that makes investing in yourself so scary, is that you have no true data to bet against. It is a new journey, with no history of wins or losses. I stepped into the arena of music and owning my own label. I have spent a lot of time and money. Learning the ins and outs of the business has been a wild ride, but I believe that it will be worth it in the end. If you do not take a chance, you will never know the fullness of the possibilities that await you.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am a national gospel artist, actor, and author. I am a central Florida native, from a small town named Groveland. I got into the music industry by way of writing songs at a very young age and performing. I fell in love with music and the ability to impact lives with the gift. I received my first record deal as a rap artist and toured with a lot of big names like, Outkast, Eve, and JaRule. I later move over to Gospel music, where I have had the opportunity to release records through my own label nationally.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect is being able to impact the lives of so many people. It’s always great to hear from fans, letting you know how your music has given them hope.

Have you ever had to pivot?

In business, you will constantly have to pivot. Learning new strategies and better ways to approach your business is the one thing that will keep your dream alive. I have had to fire PR reps, and managers several times, due issues with productivity. It’s a tuff journey.
