Alright, THOMAS thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
THE NAME OF MY COMPANY CAME FROM MY SON AND WIFE. MY SON AND I ARE AVID ATV RIDERS, I GOT HIM STARTED RIDING AT THE AGE OF 6. AS HE GREW OLDER AND TIME PASSED BY HE GOT INTO IT EVEN MORE. WE WOULD ALWAYS COME HOME FILTHY, COVER IN MUD AND DIRT. MY WIFE WOULD ALWAYS YELL AT US AND SAY YOUR NOT GOING INTO THE HOUSE ALL DIRTY LIKE THAT. YOU GUYS ARE THE DIRTY BOYZ AND WITH THAT BEING SAID THE NAME STUCK. I HAD MY BROTHER WHO AT THE TIME WAS MAKING SHIRTS . I ASKED HIM IF HE COULD MAKE SOME SHIRTS THAT SAY DIRTY BOYZ AND HE SAID YES. I FOUND AN ATV LOGO AND THE SHIRTS WERE MADE. ONCE I GOT THEM AND STARTED TO WEAR THEM PEOPLE STARTED SAYING THAT THEY LIKED THE NAME AND DESIGN AND IF I WERE SELLING THEM. THAT GAVE ME THE IDEA OF CREATING THE BRAND DB APPAREL. THE DB STANDS FOR DIRTY BOYZ. EVERYONE HAS THAT ADVENTUROUS SIDE AND WHO DOESNT LOVE TO OFF ROAD AND GET DIRTY. OVER TIME I CAMRE UP WITH A NEW LOGO TO SEE HOW IT WOULD DO AND IT IS GETTING GREAT FEEDBACK.


THOMAS , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
DB APPAREL STARTED BACK IN 2021 WHEN I HAD MY BROTHER MAKE A FEW SHIRTS FOR ME. PEOPLE WOULD ALWAYS ASK WHERE CAN THEY GET THAT SHIRT AND THAT THEY LIKE THE DESIGN AND NAME AND WERE ALSO OFF ROAD PEOPLE. THAT GAVE ME THE IDEA OF STARTING MY OWN COMPANY AND BRAND. IT HAS BEEN TUFF BUT ALSO A LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT THE SAME TIME. I BEGAN TO LOOK INTO HOW TO CREATE DESIGNS, HOW TO PRINT THEM AND ALSO LOOKING FOR A CLOTHING MANUFACTURER THAT HAS QUALITY BLANKS.ONCE I FIGURED IT ALL OUT IT WAS TIME TO GET TO WORK. I BEGAN TO MAKE A FEW THINGS FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND THE FEEDBACK WAS AMAZING SO I KEPT GOING. IN THE BEGINNING IT WAS TUFF AS I HAD NO SUPPORT OR CUSTOMERS. HOW WOULD I GET MY NAME OUT THERE AND HOW WOULD I SUCCED? I STARTED BY REACHING OUT TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO HAVE THEM HELP PROMOTE AND GET MY NAME OUT THERE. I ALSO STARTED GOING AROUND TO SMALLER MOM AND POP COMPANIES TO OFFER MY SERVICES AND ALSO GOT ONTO SOCIAL MEDIA TO HELP PROMOTE THE BRAND. ONCE ON SOCIAL MEDIA I BEGAN TO NOW REACH OUT TO OTHER BUSINESSES TO MAKE THEM AWARE OF THE SERVICES THAT WE CAN PROVIDE FOR THEM. I ALSO BEGAN TO REACH OUT TO CELEBRITIES TO SEE IF I COULD GET MY MERCH OUT TO THEM AND HAVE THEM HELP PROMTE IT AND IT HAS WORKED. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE FORMER TWO TIME HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD MR SHANNON BRIGGS. I HAVE MADE OTHER CONNECTS AS WELL . I CANT EXPRESS HOW GOOD THAT FELT TO HEAR THAT HE WAS INTRESTED IN MY PTODUCT. THAT WAS THE FUEL TO MY FIRE. WE PROVIDE HATS , SHIRTS, HODDIES AND SWEAT SUITS WITH SYLE AND COMFORT IN MIND. WE STRIVE ON QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. WE LIKE TO PROVIDE A GREAT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE FROM THE DAY OF PURCHASE. WE KEEP THE CUSTOMER IN MIND AND WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR IN THERE RECENT PURCHASE.. WE ALSO PROVIDE PRINTING AND PRESSING SERVICES FOR OTHER CUSTOMERS AND BUSINESSES, WE DO NOT JUST SUPPLY OUR OWN PRODUCT. WE WORK ALONG WITH CUSTOMERS TO HELP BRING THERE IDEA TO LIFE OR THERE BUSINESS.WE WE WORK ALONG WITH OUR CUSTOMERS TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE GETTING EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE ASKING FOR. WHAT SETS US APART FROM EVERYONE ELSE IS OUR ATTENTION TO DETAIL. PAYING ATTENTION TO OUR CUSTOMER AND LEARNING WHAT THERE NEEDS ARE AND PROVIDING OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH A QUALITY PRODUCT TO GO WITH IT. WE ARE COMMITTED TO GROWING THE BRAND AND PROVIDING QUALITY PRODUCTS TO OUR CUSTOMERS. I APPRECIATE EVERYONE FOR ALL OF THE LOVE AND SUPPORT AS WE CONTINUE TO GROW THE BUSSINES.

MY FAVORITE MARKETING STORIE IS ME REACHING OUT TO CELEBRITIES THRU INSTAGRAM. I FELT VERY WEIRD DOING BUT MY YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN. I AM INTO HIP HOP MUSIC AND FOLLOW A-LOT OF PEOPLE IN TH INDUSTRY. ONE DAY I DECIDED TO REACH OUT TO ONE OF THE RAPPERS THAT I FOLLOW AND ASK HIM IF HE WOULDNT MIND WEARING MY PRODUCT AND HELP ME OUT BY MENTIONING ME ON HIS PAGE. A WEEK WENT BY WITH NO RESPONSE WICH IS JUST WHAT I EXPECTED, BUT Lo AND BEHOLD HE RESPONDED BACK AND THE RESPONSE WAS POSITIVE. HE TOLD ME THAT HE LIKED MY DESIGNS AND WOULD LOVE TO WEAR MY CLOTHING AND HELP ME PROMOTE MY BRAND. THAT WAS THE BEST FEELING EVER!! I PUT TOGETHER A FEW OUTFITS FOR HIM AND REACHED OUT TO SEE IF I COULD MEET HIM INSTEAD OF PUTTING IT IN THE MAIL AND TO MY SURPRISE HE SAID YES. IT WAS AMAZING TO HAVE THIS OPPORTUNITY COME TO THE TABLE. THE NEXT DAY I WOKE UP TO A NOTIFICATION THAT HE MENTIONED ME IN HIS POST. I WENT TO SEE THE POST AND HE WAS WEARING ONE OF THE OUTFITS THAT I GAVE HIM AND HE MENTION MY COMPANY AND THAT THEY SHOUDL GO AND CHECK ME OUT. A FEW DAYS LATER I SEE ANOTHER POST OF HIM WEARING ANOTHER OUTFIT I GAVE HIM AND IN THIS POST HE MADE A COMMENT OF THE HE IS NOW THE BRAND AMBASSADOR FOR DB APPAREL!!! WHAT AN AMAZING FEELING. I KNOW HAVE A BRAND AMBASSADOR . THERE IS NO BETTER FEELING THAN SEEING SOMEONE WEARING YOUR BRAND. THERE ARE NO WORDS THAT CAN EXPLAIN THE FEELING. I ALSO HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO APPEAR IN ONE OF HIS MUSIC VIEOS . I CAN NOT THANK HIM ENOUGH FOR BELIEVING IN ME AND GIVING ME THIS OPPERTUNITY


How did you build your audience on social media?
I BUILT MY AUDIENCE ON SOCIAL MEDIA FIRST BY REACHING OUT TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING. AFTER THAT I WOULD CONSTANTLY POST. EVERY SINGLE DAY I WOULD POST AND USE HASHTAGS TO TRY TO DRAW MORE PEOPLE TO MY PAGE. CONSISTENCY IS KEY. ITS IS HARD AND CAN BE FRUSTRATING BUT I DIDNT GIVE UP. ONCE I STARTED TO GET FOLLOWED BY OTHER CLOTHING MANUFACTURES I KNEW I WAS DOING SOMETHING RIGHT. I CONTINUED TO POST, FROM PICTURES TO REELS TO STORIES. AS TIME WENT ON I STARTED TO NOW GET REGULAR PEOPLE FOLLOWING ME AND LEAVING COMMENTS ON THE POSTS. I AM STILL WORKING ON GROWING MY PAGE AS YOU VAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH FOLLOWERS OR CUSTOMERS. NOW THAT I HAVE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF FOLLOWERS I DONT HAVE TO POST EVERY DAY. I NOW FIND THAT I GET BETTER RESULTS IF I POST EVERY OTHER DAY OR EVERY TWO DAYS. I GIVE MY POST TIME TO CYCLE THRU THE SYSTEM. SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE ALGORITHM ALWAYS CHANGE SO YOU HAVE TO FIND WAYS TO FIT IN AND GET THAT EXPOSURE.
