THOMAS, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
With over 20 years in advertising as a creative director, I’ve leveraged my experiences working with other creatives, photographers, and directors to shape my career path as a photographer and director. Talent is just one piece of the puzzle; the other pieces are equally important. These include professionalism, team building and collaboration, planning for successful results, and working effectively with clients.
THOMAS, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
One of the key factors behind my success in advertising is my ability to discover the big idea and communicate it with passion and authenticity. I’ve carried these skills into my photography and directing by constantly seeking new ways to see and convey ideas. Additionally, the process of developing creative work should be joyful and fun. Whether I’m working with a brand or a model, it’s all about creative collaboration, and that’s what sets me apart.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot in the advertising field, and I’ve recently begun to come into my own in photography. My goal is to continue growing in photography, honing my style, and ultimately working with brands and people who inspire me.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I’m inspired by young creatives today, as they seem to find their creative voices much earlier. Many young talents reach out to me with questions, seeking mentorship, or just to connect. I wish I had done more of that in my youth.
