We recently connected with Thomas Guerra and have shared our conversation below.
Thomas, appreciate you joining us today. undefined
My parents were always there for me, and their unwavering support shaped who I am today. They taught me right from wrong, instilled a deep faith in God, and showed me the true meaning of family. From my teenage years, when I started my addiction until I got sober as a 31 year old and put them through so much pain, they never gave up on me. Their faith in me never wavered, even when I lost faith in myself.
They held on to hope during the darkest moments of my active addiction. No matter how far I strayed, they believed I could turn my life around. It’s because of their steadfast love and guidance that I found the strength to seek help and embrace recovery.
Today, I dedicate my life to helping others. The lessons my parents taught me about perseverance, unconditional love, and faith inspire me to give others the same hope they gave me. They showed me what it means to never give up on someone, and I carry that forward in my work every day.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m someone who has walked a journey of challenge, growth, and transformation, and that journey is at the heart of what I do today. I found my way into this field because of my personal experience with addiction and recovery. Those struggles not only shaped me but also ignited a passion for helping others navigate similar paths. I now dedicate my life to supporting individuals and communities affected by substance use and addiction.
Through my organization, F Fentanyl Inc, we provide education, harm reduction tools, and support services. Our offerings range from Narcan distribution and overdose prevention training to public speaking and advocacy for systemic change. We aim to bridge the gap between stigma and understanding, creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and empowered to take the next steps toward recovery.
What sets us apart is our lived experience and commitment to meeting people where they are. We believe in harm reduction as a compassionate and practical approach to saving lives and improving outcomes. We also ensure that everything we do is informed by the voices of those we serve—our work is a collaboration, not a prescription.
I’m most proud of the lives we’ve impacted: the person who felt seen for the first time, the family that found hope, or the community that started having open conversations about addiction and recovery. These moments remind me why this work matters.
What I’d love for people to know about our work is that our mission is to provide the tools, support, and understanding to help individuals and families find their path to healing and wholeness. We are here to walk alongside anyone who needs it, with no judgment and endless hope.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been word of mouth. People hear about the genuine care and dedication we put into saving lives, and that trust spreads naturally. We’re open about our lived experiences, which creates a deep connection with those we serve.
Being honest about our journey and the challenges we’ve faced allows us to meet people where they are, without judgment. This authenticity resonates with individuals and families, and they respect the honesty and transparency we bring to our work. It’s this personal connection that turns trust into action and helps us reach even more people in need.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My reputation is something I’ve worked hard to build over many years, and it’s rooted in being real, honest, and helpful. People trust me and my work because I prioritize authenticity and genuinely strive to make a difference. Over time, there have been challenges—people who’ve tried to damage my reputation—but the truth and trust I’ve built with others have always prevailed.
When you achieve a level of success and respect, it can, unfortunately, bring out jealousy and negativity in others. I’ve learned to navigate those challenges by focusing on what matters: continuing to serve and staying true to my values. Through these experiences, I’ve also learned to be cautious of people who don’t have my best interests at heart. My circle is small now, but it’s filled with people I trust and respect, which has been vital to maintaining my integrity and focus.
Ultimately, it’s the consistent commitment to being authentic and dependable that has solidified my reputation over time. Trust is earned, and I’m proud of the foundation I’ve built.
