We recently connected with Thomas Felts and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Thomas thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission is to offer affordable, quality images and housing.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello, my name is Thomas and I used to be a school counselor. I bought my first camera the day my son Wyatt was born on October 16th, 2014. Two years later in 2016, I bought my first rental property and went into photography full-time. I’m now up to 34 units in real estate and love to invest. In fact, as I write this I wait to hear back on a solid offer for a 12 unit. I’m a little nervous but my fingers are crossed the sellers accept. My goal is to grow my real estate business to help me become financially free. Then I hope to travel more and document my experiences with photography. Along with my son Wyatt, I also have my son Carter, who was born in June of 2016. Guaranteed, I love this dad thing, everything I do is for these guys, maybe I’ll get lucky and one or both of them will come to join me someday. Thanks for reading, if anyone would like to learn more they’re welcome to contact me.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I was working as a school counselor I only intended to try photography on the side. I had no idea it would become a serious passion and it would change my life. Once you start a business, it’s almost like an addiction. It’s part of the reason I started putting my energy into real estate. I want to keep doing photography and could talk about it all day but let me tell you about real estate.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I was told to keep my day job and that 85% of photographers failed. Then I was told not to get into real estate because it was like a shark tank. Glad I didn’t listen!
