We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Thiago Quirino a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Thiago , appreciate you joining us today. Do you have any advice regarding quality control and maintaining quality as your brand grows?
As a Personal Chef one of my main goals besides satisfying my guest to a unique culinary experience is to control the quality of ingredients and sanitation. I’m direct in obligation to keep everyone healthy and absolutely no one to get sick. That is why by maintaining all qualities and cleanness I can make my clients happy and my company to grow.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Latino Chef (Brazilian-American) born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I moved to Houston in 2007 and felt in love with this city. I have two business at this moment, Robusto Food House (@RobustoFood) where I cater private dinners and fun hands-on cooking class and Robusto Crafts (@RobustoCrafts) where I handmake culinary goods like infused olive oils and unique salt combinations. You can also find my own Instagram (@chefthiagoquir) where I share culinary tips. product reviews, recipes, collaborations and much more.

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process./
Robusto Artisanal Crafts (www.robustocrafts.com) started from nothing to a national brand. I always believed that great food must be simple with characteristics flavors, not overpowering but Robust. Since 2020 I start infusing with olive oil at home and cooking for my family and friends, they noticed the flavors were spectacular and they couldn’t understand why because I only use very few ingredients.
We only have 3-4 main ingredients in our kitchen then we use in everything, most of the time is olive oil, salt and pepper, so why not make them great? I asked.
After innumerous tries I was able to make the best infused olive oil I could and people went nuts asking me to sell to them, so I did. After a few months I crafted 4 unique infused salts to go along with the olive oil and it was a instantaneous hit. Now on my Etsy Shop, I currently sell to all 50 states and maintaining a 5 star reviews shop.

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
I’m currently selling on Etsy (RobustoCrafts) and they truly make it simple and direct to my clients. Here’s some pros and cons in my opinion:
Pros: Fast & easy navigation and informative.
Cons: Some shops can be hard to understand due to excessive products and higher fees.
