Thi, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

Back in 2010, In the nightlife scene of Dallas, there was a notable absence of female Asian DJs. Determined to break new ground, I recognized my profound love for music and my extensive involvement as a consumer in the nightlife industry, motivating me to become a part of it.

Thi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I consider myself an entrepreneur, although my primary recognition comes from my career as a DJ. I’m also known as a content creator and a business owner, with experience ranging from previously owning a restaurant to delving into e-commerce now. I’m dedicated to versatility in my entrepreneurial endeavors, constantly seeking to explore various opportunities.

As a DJ, I make sure to have memorable experiences at a wide range of events, particularly clubs, corporate/private parties and weddings. I take pride in my talent for reading the crowd, adapting to their preferences, and ensuring that everyone gets hyped and has a fun time.

In my role as a brand and content creator, I deliver by producing content that is not only engaging but genuinely reflects my values and personality. I believe in the power of storytelling and connecting with an audience on a personal level. What I’m most proud of is my capacity to combine creativity and marketing to deliver content that not only showcases a product’s features but also resonates with my audience.

For prospective clients, followers, and fans, I am committed to dropping music that’s perfect for dancing or fist-bumping, as well as the genuine authenticity within my content creation. My primary focus is on creating a positive impact through my work while still maintaining authenticity.

How did you build your audience on social media?

My journey of social media growth has been a rollercoaster ride, a blend of challenges and remarkable opportunities. I’ve been fortunate to connect with fellow creatives, content creators, and influencers, and their support has undeniably played a crucial role in my growth. It all began with a passion for creativity, blended seamlessly with authenticity and unwavering enthusiasm. These qualities were the cornerstones of my Instagram presence. Yet, I’ll admit that I’ve struggled with the consistency and patience required for this journey. There were moments when I questioned the progress and wondered if it was worth continuing. However, it’s these moments of doubt that the true power of social media shines through. I’ve been consistently blessed of opportunities that have come my way. Whether it’s collaborating with exciting partnerships with brands, forming connections with incredible individuals, or securing new DJ gigs, social media has undeniably been a transformative force in my career.
For those who are just starting out on their own social media journey, I’d offer the following advice:
* Be Authentic: Your uniqueness is your brand. Authenticity is magnetic and helps you stand out in a crowd.
* Be Consistent: Although I’m not the best with this myself, maintaining a consistent posting schedule has undeniable benefits. It not only keeps your audience engaged but also increases the chances of your content going viral.
* Be Patient: Building a significant social media presence is a process. It’s normal to encounter setbacks and experience periods of slow growth.
* Learn & Adapt: Stay informed about the never-ending trends and changes on the social media platforms you use. Be ready to adjust your strategy to remain relevant and responsive to your audience’s needs.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

A combination of a strong online presence, personal connections, and consistently delivering high-quality service has been the most effective strategy for growing my clientele as a DJ.
