Theresa , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Before I decided to quit my corporate job and take on this endeavor head-on, I was greatly struggling. I don’t come from the easiest of upbringings. Between familiarity with abusive situations, failed and equally abusive relationships, and a great lack of self-love, I found myself in a deep depression just as COVID was sweeping its way across the world, sending us all into forced seclusion. Looking back now, this was exactly what I needed. I was steps away from a full, and probable public, breakdown. The pandemic allowed me to privately hit my greatest lows and work on slowly finding myself and learning who I was.
Once I found my footing, my guides quickly directed me toward the next steps.
I was led towards leaving my corporate and comfy job. I admit that I was very reluctant and doubted myself initially by simply finding a new corporate job instead of jumping into my abilities fully. I worked on my first book while situating myself within a new corporate clan. This didn’t last long, despite my best attempts, which were quite weak if I’m being honest. After several weeks there, I left and found myself questioning my choices with having left financial comfort and tossing myself into what felt so right for so many reasons, but seemed to be a laughing matter for any I opened up to about this new path.
Telling people that you are walking away from social expectations to become a psychic/medium isn’t exactly taken very seriously. I knew if I was going to do this, I would have to be 100% behind myself and ready for any and all comments, and there were comments! I took the time to mentally draw out what my plan was going to be and the greater goal behind all of this with the understanding that I had to be ready for those who were going to walk out of my life, laugh at me, and ridicule me for following the greatest calling and leap of faith I’ve ever made.
I still receive backlash, but thank my past experiences for providing me with the ability to grow and learn that my opinion alone is most important. To have the knowing that as long as my intentions are pure, that I’m helping others, that I feel like I’m creating a positive footprint, that is enough for me.
I finished writing and published my book “Guided: Life long self-awareness techniques to raise your vibration and bring you more joy”. It’s a creation that I am very proud of and utilized to create my new self-titled podcast that is based on joy and what it means to different people and also how it changed over time.
I then followed up with coaching and courses that I have created to help people find themselves and learn what holds them back so that they can push forward in the best way possible.
I like to see my business as one that is created through the experiences of a crazy and turbulent life. One where I felt more alone at times than I can find words to explain. This gave me a great understanding of many situations and avenues one can take. The priceless knowledge from my years lived is not just what lets me understand the messages received with empathy, but also drives me to help as many people as I can and ensure that they know they aren’t alone, even in the toughest times. For all the times I would have loved a helping hand, a kind word, or even just a simple smile, I thrive in being that for those who also feel as alone as I once had.
If I were, to sum up the mission or why I have chosen to step so far out of social acceptance and understanding, it would be with the driving force of spreading love. Leading people to it, teaching it, and showing it.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I see myself as being very blessed to have these abilities. I can’t remember a time that I didn’t have them, meaning they didn’t develop over a period of time or come on suddenly. These were blessings I had since birth.
I have assisted with hauntings and attachments as well as blessing the space once removed. I have done cleansings of people, places, things, and land. I connect with past loved ones. I answer questions in terms of the current state or for the future. I love providing messages for the highest good. I also greatly enjoy working on cleaning and clearing energy as well as helping to heal where possible. I’ve assisted companies with progression into the future and also highering to help them find the best fit for their company.
I would say that the most fun would have to be when I am met with a list of rapid-fire questions. It’s very interesting for me to see just how quickly I can get the answers. By saying that, I love every aspect. It provides an incredible variety. Going into readings/sessions, I never know what to expect! It’s a welcomed surprise every time. For instance, some ask if I can connect with living and past pets. This can be very fun and funny with some of the messages they relay.
Outside of my abilities, I have my current published book ‘Guided: Life long self-awareness techniques to raise your vibration and bring you more joy”. I am working on my second book which will be very different from the first. Where Guided is a well-laid-out series of techniques for betterment, my second book will be based on me and my life.
The reason for the difference is that I find it greatly important to be aware of the different manners one can learn. Some by reading, some by doing, and others by being told. I see my first book as the “doing” and my second book as the “told” where people will be able to grow through the storytelling.
I also have my new podcast that I just started this year. It’s all about talking to different people from different avenues in life about what Joy is to them. The goal is to help people see that happiness is not one set course. That it is what they feel lights them up personally. I want to help lead them there through these discussions.
When I have availability, I love coaching and teaching as it’s always been something that has brought me joy. For this reason, I provide group guided meditation as well as available courses on my website alongside my readings.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I would say the biggest lesson I had to unlearn was a mix of listening to the expectations of those around me and the long-told story of societal expectations.
This can be seen as one by some, but I like to view them as separate. One holds closely the thoughts and views of those we hold so dear where as the other is the weight we bear by all we believe we need to be and do.
It’s one thing to be able to overlook one, but to feel like you are flowing against the grain of both can be a very lonely path. If you feel like your loved ones have your back, it’s easy to push through because you’ve got the support at arm’s length. To have the greater masses behind your endeavors is a powerful force! This can give one the strength to push through the most daunting of obstacles.
The journey I decided to blindly trust my guides through, led me to unlearn everything I was ever told I was supposed to be, do, or have. I had to turn within and find strength. I had to believe when I felt like I couldn’t see it in any other direction.
The journey of unlearning anything can be a difficult one, but so rewarding! When we learn to follow what feels right and not always simply what is learned through other’s experiences or expectations, we can see that it is not always what’s best. We can start to see that many are driven through fears, pains, and hurts of their own. We can see that the path they guide us towards may work for them, however, we need to recognize that their reasons for what they expect may be led with good intentions, but who’s really steering if the past traumas are the driving force?
I truly learned to let go fully and completely of all I “learned”. I broke it down and figured out what really was important to me and what I found myself having to let go of fully. I determined what I needed to move away from in order to allow this new endeavor of psychic/mediumship to work. It was a crazy ride, but well worth the journey!
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
I love this question!
Where many will be able to grow their clientele through things like consistency, ingenuity, and/or putting themselves outside of their comfort zone, My approach is much different.
Consistency in showing up is a must for any. This could be with consistency in social media posts, email communications, and so many others. Consistency is so important!
Ingenuity is another important one. We always have to challenge ourselves with new thoughts and ideas. New avenues that could lead to the next ‘big trend’ or popularity with the masses. It’s all about the eye-grabbing factor.
I chose to jump outside of the box and make the uncomfortable zone my favorite place. I chose to have blind faith.
When I decided to even consider this journey, I said that if this was what I was truly meant to do, everything would fall into place, and did it ever!
I had my website created by an amazing person in exchange for readings. Her reason for this was that she believed more people NEEDED to find me. Since then, my eldest daughter, who is amazingly talented, perfected my website into what it is today.
From there, my clientele grew through word of mouth. I have no email list, although I have JUST decided to start one for those who reach out and request to be added to an email I will be starting to send once a month on what I have going on for me or any announcements.
I do enjoy doing posts on social media where I can share thoughts and positive words and encouragement for others but, find myself posting mostly only when I’m guided to do so.
This is definitely not the most conventional or the avenue most would even think of taking, but I like to share it as it can be a reminder that no matter the situation, if we can allow ourselves to have faith, sometimes that’s all one needs.
