We recently connected with Theresa Bills and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Theresa, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
It’s actually kind of interesting. When my son was younger he would say I love you mommy and I used to respond back by saying, “I love you more”. He loved to draw and one day he made me a drawing that said Love More! He was about 10 at the time and when I asked him what it was for he replied it’s for your business mommy. The drawing was beautiful to me, however, at the time I had no business I was a single mother working 2 jobs. I told him thank you and put my new art piece on the refrigerator. About 5 years later when I did decide to start my own business I already had a name and a logo drafted.
Theresa, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a mother of one. I wanted to start this business because I had been in the healthcare field for about 16 years prior and I was very interested in natural health and wellness. At the time my mother was dealing with a tumor on her pituitary gland and we were looking at alternative treatments and herbs to optimize her health. I started by making natural juices and teas. Soon there after, I expanded by making natural products. The next part of my business involved holistic treatment consultations and treatment plans. I have always been interested beauty industry so in 2020 I added some non-invasive treatments to my business and to keep the holistic approach, I make a majority of the products that I use for my treatments. It all came together like a puzzle and to my surprise… all the pieces fit!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think that my reputation in the market was built on a combination of factors that include: transparency, honesty, dependability, love, care,
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing your clientele is word of mouth. This is a great strategy because it’s free there is no budget for word of mouth marketing. My advice to others entrepreneurs that interested in growing their clientele is to offer an amazing experience for each one of their clients. It is also very effective to remain humble and to use social media to educate clients not to brag and boast on your personal accomplishments.
