We were lucky to catch up with Theodora Osei-Fordwuo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Theodora, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to expose American to our healthy authentic unique, culture, inclusive and above the blessings from above., if you solely trust and relay on Him
Theodora, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Am first of all a wife, a proud mom of three beautiful and handsome kids, a Christian and, an instrument of God to feed His children with an authentic, flavorful, unique and an amazing food. I love what I do, I and my husband Sylvester owns African Grill and Bar, this is our 18 years running this business, it our everything . Am chef, host, server etc, we off food across Africa I believe in quality and not quantity What makes me happy is to see my customers so happy enjoying and emptying their plates, our goal is to make each an everyone who enters our facility leaving happily ever after.. what set me apart is, I believe my hands a blessed when it comes to cooking, first realized it when I was young, also am not perfect but tries to be upfront with everyone who comes across me. Am not people pleaser and never intend to be one, I cherish and values every one who enters our business. I believe we are all created in His image and deserves to be treated equally. Our menu entails, a lot of gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and also include meat eaters, our meals are dairy free..

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Consistency, persistency’s faith take you a long way in life. It’s wasn’t easy, getting to where I am today, but am someone who doesn’t believe in giving up, no matter what. Also am a big believer in believing that, there are still good people out there, who God put them on your way, if you keep believing in Him. Nothing comes on silver platers, till you are ready to put an input in it.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Quality and consistency, it takes time, but with hard work it pays off.
