Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Theodora Atanassov. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Theodora, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I learned to model by trial and error essentially. I did several photoshoots and fashion shows when I first started and didn’t really know how to pose or walk, I just did what I thought looked good. Now looking back at it I see the growth from those moments to now. I watched my movements on the runway closely and analyzed myself, I looked at all the photos taken of me and learned what looked best for me. To speed up my learning process I could have researched more, looking at demonstration videos online, spend more time posing in the mirror, and practice my runway walk in front of a mirror a little bit each day. I think the most essential skill to have is understanding yourself, knowing your body and face, and knowing what looks and feels good for you while still being creative. You have to love yourself in every way possible, which in turn becomes confidence and this new confidence will radiate off of you. Personally, some obstacles that stood in my way of learning more was time. Since I have started modeling it has been a struggle to balance school, a full time job and modeling. My time was constantly torn between these and I took long breaks from modeling because I only had time for school and my job, so learning more about modeling has been stretched out for some years.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My creative passion is modeling, and my other passion is the veterinary field. Being a model was something I wanted to do since I was in middle school, but didn’t pursue until I was 17. Being a veterinarian is something I have wanted since I was a kid, and it is still a work in process with vet school still ahead of me. These are two things in my life I wish to continue to pursue and grow in, they both feed my soul in different ways. As far as modeling I think what sets me apart from the many other beautiful models in the world is my energy, the positivity and radiance I bring is something I take pride in. I wish to bring that positivity everywhere I go and spread it to others around me and maybe inspire other people as well. For the veterinary field I feel that I am not only compassionate to the patients, but to their owners as well. Although I do work in a field where I am treating/supporting animals rather than people I am still working with the owner to give the best care to their fur babies no matter their circumstances. Overall I am most proud of who I have become from both of these passions I have, they have each played a part in my growth and development as a person in a positive way, and I hope to spread knowledge and positivity to others through both of these endeavors of mine!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think the most rewarding thing of being a creative is seeing the end products of the work I do. It is a very fulfilling feeling to see something you worked hard on with a team of people and seeing the final product of it. Even more so if that work is published and acknowledged by others in the industry. It is reassuring to know I am making progress and continuing to move forward.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I think my goal is to get to a point in my modeling career where I am doing jobs across the world. Where I travel to different states and countries to do the work I love and spend some time adventuring around these new places as well. The idea of traveling for my career and also having time to see new things is a dream to me, and I work hard to hopefully be able to see that dream through and make it into my reality.
