We caught up with the brilliant and insightful TheeHeiress Leslie a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi TheeHeiress , thanks for joining us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Most people’s dreams become nightmares when they fail to execute them. It’s one thing to have a dream or dreams and another to make the dream plan or vision plain and bring it to reality. As a serial entrepreneur I have had the pleasure of seeing my ideas come to life. And let me say that just because they do come to full execution doesn’t unsure that you will be a millionaire over night. One of the first steps to go from idea to execution is to write the idea down. Whether it is a book or product or service you have to make it plain as possible step by step all the way to how it looks to finish. Second step is to take the step; begin writing if it’s a book, keep a notebook near to jot the words down as they come to you. If it’s a service get the necessary things you need to provide the service; to do hair you need tools, products, and equipment and I will say that equipment doesn’t have to be brand new, it just has to be good enough to make you some money to upgrade it later, if it’s a product research the ingredients and how to bottle it up start small trusting that you can upgrade your packaging later. Thirdly, tell someone to keep you accountable to your idea, create an executable goal (smart goals) with due dates discipline your self, clear away distractions and set time to execute. Lastly promote and market to get your first customer or sale then rinse and repeat. Your idea must solve a problem and then you will become the solution and your customers will look for you once your idea has materialized.

TheeHeiress , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The first thing I want the audience to know is I’m a child of the Most High God, His Heir/Heiress and because of that He makes all things possible for me even this interview is through His divine timing and connection. I have owned several salons throughout Tampa Bay Area and provided licenses for a vast amount of Braiders in Tampa Bay Area and beyond. I have trained and worked with our community youth instructing them in business skills and hands on natural hair care under our former program “Operation Young Boss” renamed “Thee Royal Heirlines Experience” which now consists of character development, skills in Honor and Custom Service and More. I am the Founder of Dyvine Connections Networking Group where we connect entrepreneurs with those in our network that can help them grow offering four levels of membership to help them advance in their area of expertise that include one on one and group coaching. I am the leader and founder of a nonprofit 501(c)3 the D.A.R.E Initiative which has several initiatives to help people navigate their lives financially, educationally, and emotionally. We just brought in new board members to help execute our mission and programs. I am also the head evangelist for Rose from Tha Concrete Ministry we air via social media platforms every Sunday at 8:30 with the mission to “Revitalize the Concept of Religion”. I am the author of several books with the latest one titled “The Honor System” and Beauty on the Bay Magazine” recently renamed “Crowned In Purpose” As well as being a creator of several products for hair growth, custom jackets, custom ties, and anointing oils for prayer.
I never thought about being an entrepreneur or doing most of the things above. I came to Florida wanting to be a Fashion Designer and Personal Stylist to the rich and famous. This led me to go to school for fashion design at the International Academy of Design in Tampa, then heading to cosmetology school at Manhattan Hair Academy in Saint Petersburg but once I got into hair I stayed in it and began to develop other opportunities for business within the beauty industry.
I think my biggest accomplishment is Motherhood having my first child at 15 and two more by the age of 27 with no real guidance or support. To have raised them as a single mother into adulthood and watch them mature to make better decisions than I previously did.

How did you build your audience on social media?
When it comes down to building your brand on social media you need to know that if you don’t make the time your followers numbers will not climb. You have to take the time to post at least 3 times a day. This is the actually bare minimum. Post authentic post about your business, it can be a snippet of your product, book, service. You can even schedule your post if you don’t have time to do it daily. Don’t over sale but share great information and insights about the product, service, book. Share posts with pictures or videos to capture followers attention and share them on your story. Join groups and post in the groups the more people in the group the more exposure you get and go on other people’s page like and share their content before you post so they will come on your page and look at your content. Social media is about engagement so you have to engage with others to have them engage with you.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Last year this time I was healing from a broken wrist. Who would’ve guessed a simple trip to the skating rink with my daughter and grandkids would have me end up in the hospital. I broke my wrist in 3 places and had to have surgery and metal plates and pins in it. As a Hairdresser that just got my CDL’s to drive school buses, I was devastated my plans was halted. The doctor said I would take at least a year to recover and to this day I still don’t have full range of motion in my wrist. Nonetheless I am back offering hair services open and available for new clients. I went from never praise dancing with flags to phenomenally dancing with flags with my broken wrist being the stronger wrist. Then I pivoted my business to offering the business consulting and virtual services and other products that I would have probably done if I didn’t break my wrist. Lastly this resilience comes from the Lord who gave me Joy for my sorrow and beauty for my ashes! I encourage others to learn more about the keeping power of God and how Resilience is rightfully your inherited power! You have to subscribe to “Becoming the Finisher” which is one of our Upcoming Events on Sunday December 28th,2025 from 5-9pm at GT church in Saint Petersburg.
