We were lucky to catch up with Thee Smithington recently and have shared our conversation below.
Thee, appreciate you joining us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
Hmmm…the first thing that comes to mind is at Thee Smithington, we refer to our clients as partners. That’s the foundation of our appreciation. We like our exchange to not feel like a transaction but a mutual relationship built over time, which transpires into a lifelong family.
One of our recent partners is starting their first business and needs to figure out where to start, but has a brilliant idea. These individuals thrive due to our partnership because we can start from scratch to mold and shape their business the Thee Smithington way. We catered to our new partner by first having a free consultation where we listened to potential clients to see if we would be a good fit. After the talk, we were a match, so they received a personalized creative strategy plan to accomplish their goals. Once the plan, projects, and deadlines are mutually agreed upon, Thee Smithington can get to work.
Our partners are included in all decisions throughout the process with transparent 24/7 communication and consistent follow-ups. Our partners appreciate the ease of being in the loop a knowing that the work is getting done.
Thee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Thee Smithington is an artist-led creative firm building equity for artists and local businesses. We work with companies and individuals interested in creative direction and unique design, branding, content creation, and marketing techniques. What you put into the universe is what you get out. Creating something physical with an eternal existence motivates Thee Smithington. We are proud of our ability to build brand equity and facilitate chance/change.
Thee Smithington offers free consultations for creative entrepreneurs and local businesses interested in building, expanding, or managing their endeavors. We provide creative strategy, design, content creation, social media, marketing, and branding services.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the most current struggles for Thee Smithington is the pressure of building a new business alone, which requires huge amounts of resilience.
Most of the time, all the decision-making, planning, and execution are accomplished by one person. That’s the brutal reality of starting a business; in the beginning, you will do many things alone, but that isn’t bad. The pressures of not having a clear path or having someone close to you showing you the way, yes, becomes challenging—however, the necessary skills and like-mind counterparts happen along the journey during those struggles.
To overcome this struggle, I keep going no matter what and ensure all actions are strategic and align with Thee Smithingon’s overall agenda.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is a tricky thing, but everyone is using it. Thee Smithington builds, manages, and develops content for our partners daily and creates an audience for ourselves.
The way we manage and build for ourselves is through schedule and consistency. We schedule posts and content. Our posts are strategic to days and times. Then we only. Make specific content and have content days so our 30 days of content are complete. Along with scheduling, consistency is essential to gain engagement and followers. Thee Smithington wash rinses and repeats our social media plan over and over.
Hmm…The best advice I can give others interested in gaining a social media presence is to be authentic and consistent, mixed with patience. People will gravitate to you for being yourself. If you post regularly, people will get familiar and be patient. It takes time to build.
