We caught up with the brilliant and insightful The Willow Sisters a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

The Willow Sisters , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

We have been singing together since the young age of three. We grew up singing in church, at school, for the elderly in nursing homes, and pretty much anywhere we could. Our parents actually built a stage in the backyard for us and we would hold nightly concerts for our neighbors. I’m sure they loved it! Ha! But it wasn’t until we went to a recording studio for the first time in 2015 that we realized we need to be taking this more seriously. Britt went in to record an acoustic cover of Ed Sheeran’s, “Thinking Out Loud” for her first dance song at her wedding. It was like something clicked and set our souls on fire in that moment. We had always wrote songs and sang for fun, but this set the wheel in motion for us to really go for it in a major way!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

We are electro pop singer/songwriters based in Jacksonville, FL. As identical twins, we have been honing in on our skills and perfecting our sibling harmonies for several years. Our grandfather yodeled and our great aunt was a folk musician, so a lot of our musical foundation comes from these two. We regularly gig around North Florida, performing at festivals, private parties, corporate events, restaurants, weddings, etc. with our band members, Michael Bennick (guitarist) and Eastman Curtis (Djembe/percussionist).

We write for all genres and are not afraid to try out new ideas creatively and sonically. We frequently travel to Miami, Nashville, and LA to write, record, and work on our craft. We have collaborated with many talented artists & producers, including 56x platinum, 2x Grammy awarded producer, Vinny Venditto. We also topline write for DJs and producers and are always looking to expand our network to collaborate with others in the industry. We have an extensive catalog and are setting our sites on the world of sync!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

We love bringing joy to others through our music. When we perform live, it’s always worth it when you see people smiling, dancing, singing along, and just leaving their worries behind in that moment. The energy is electric.

Also, there’s nothing quite like giving life to a voice recorded melody on your phone or lyrics written down on a sticky note. It’s so fufilling to listen to a final mixed/mastered song that you have created. So much time and effort goes into every song, so this is extremely rewarding for us.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Our mission is to continue to expand our network, get sync placements, and break into the world of sync. Ultimately, we want to hear our songs in tv/film, commercials, video games, etc. and we are going to make it happen!
