Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to The Warman Trio. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
The Warman Trio, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
We do earn a full-time living from our band!
With our job we get to travel around the South East and go to the most amazing places, and meet the best people at conferences, theme parks, city events, corporate functions, etc.
The #1 way we’ve been able to do this is through Gods grace, guidance, and provision this whole time, He’s always with us when things are riding high, and when things are rough… (like Covid year).
2nd way is that we are a family and don’t have to split the profit like a normal band does… and we’ve done well with it and only work 3-4 days a week.
3rd is that we don’t have any debt… we outright own 3 properties, cars, everything. So When times do get tough… we just have basic expenses.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Absolutely!
We are a family band comprised of a father and two daughters and have been performing the Rock’n Roll hits from the 1950S & 60s across the South East US for 6 years now.
We all dress vintage 1950s and specialize
in being a high-energy show…. doing the 1950s hits everyone loves, with big crowd engagement, and crazy rockabilly stage antics.
Based out of East Tennessee, we perform at a variety of functions across the South East
trom City Events, to Corporate Events, to Theme Parks, Car Shows, Galas, and many more.
Rick is the father, & leader on electric guitar. Presley is the eldest daughter – slapping the doghouse bass and handling all the band’s business. Jessica is the youngest – on the stand-up drum kit.
Our main inspirations are Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, and the Stray Cats.
We got started as a band 8 years ago in church, where dad was the worship leader at near the Nashville area. After a year, we started branching into other forms of music… Presley started dressing 1950s daily and that helped steer the band towards them learning the roots of rock’n’roll.
The first quarter of 2025 was spent putting together our new package…
the “Ultimate 1950s Sock Hop Party Experience”!
It has been very successful thus far…. In it we create a memorable experience where guests “come dressed in their 1950s best”…. we transform the venue with decorations like your stepping back into the 1950s….. lead the audience in “American Bandstand” style dances & songs, there’s a friendly competition for all that dressed vintage and the winners are crowned “Sock Hop King & Queen”,
We provide all the retro decor for tables and stage; two photo sections for them to capture the nights memories with lots of fun props; and have an entertaining, memorable evening for everyone involved.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Most rewarding aspect?
#1 Meeting a wide variety of people from every walk of life and getting to connect with them. We have developed many great friendships over the years from people across the globe, to CEOs, developers, management, and janitors.
#2 – Keeping the 1950s music alive, helping people relive the past, and introducing the younger generation to the great oldies. Leaving everyone with fun memories and a wholesome-warm family feeling.
#3 – The amazing places we get to perform at! Before and after our shows we get a behind the scenes look at the most beautiful venues & theatres… go on roller coaster rides in between shows at theme parks… watch the sun set at a yacht clubs… it’s amazing.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Tom Jackson’s Live Performace book and video series has done a great deal to help us develop and grow our shows.
For growing our business: I (Presley/bassist) have been studying business for years… I light up when talking about it, what we’re doing, and how we’re growing. I’ve read many books, done online lectures, and follow the best minds.
Currently reading The E-Myth Book and it’s absolutely amazing…
