We recently connected with The Vegan Foode and have shared our conversation below.
The Vegan Foode, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
It started in 2018, after a 30 day fast and God spoke to me and told me to create an instagram page and retire from being an entertainment publicist and put total focus on being my brand instead of helping others build their career and brand.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
After a work trip in Los Angeles as a music publicist and brand manager, I decided to go fully vegan. Going vegan allowed me to share my recipes and my friends told me I should put the content out in a professional form since I had great experience with social media and editing. After I created the content I realized that there was a need for urban vegan influencers and after a few months thousands started to follow me and became intrigued with my vegan lifestyle. I am very passionate about the holistic lifestyle as well so I used my social media to bring awareness on a subject not known to many in my community.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I had a community like the one I started which is called The Vegan Vixen Tribe. Where I encourage women to live their healthiest lives and read books to encourage healing mentally and emotionally.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I retired from being a publicist it was a hard time for me as I had to learn how to adapt to not having a monthly salary and use my brand to create revenue on a consistent basis, but after a few years it became easier because brands now reach out to me for promotional post.
