We caught up with the brilliant and insightful The Recipe a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, The thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project that we’ve worked on is AB’s Bluestrip Walking tape. The tape was a success, and it was an all-hands on deck effort from The Recipe team and rising producer Bluestrip Walking. DaJuan was the recording/tracking engineer and Francois was the mixing and mastering engineer. The tape was released on February 2nd, 2021 and it is available on all streaming platforms. The, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The Recipe is a music and media management group focused on bringing exposure to urban culture in West Michigan. We’re based in Grand Rapids, and we work with some of our city’s buzzing artists such as AB, Lil Wu, Mondo, Dooter, and Kae Ginobili. The media aspect of our business features interviews highlighting rising artists, entrepreneurs, and designers. We specialize in artist development, marketing, visual media, and distribution. What sets us apart is that we don’t know of anyone in our area that has this range of services. We’re most proud of our artists, their growth, and the reception they get whenever they release a new project. We want the readers to know that we’re a one-stop shop for your music and/or marketing plans. We have experience in recording, interviewing, and monetizing content amongst many other things. We’ve done it for ourselves, and others.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is bringing thoughts and ideas to life.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal or mission driving our journey is to bring light and exposure to the culture in West Michigan, from music to technology to fashion.
