Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to THE OSHI. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
THE , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you wish you had started sooner?
Honestly, sooner because how indulged i was able to be with my craft when i started out. I had the time and Freedom to do so. The only difference now is that im at a responsible stage where stabilizing life is just a bit more important at times than sitting up making beats for hours at a time, I just have wellness priorities but music is one of them. Well, when i realized and understood that people gravitated towards my skills was about 15 years old when i wrote my first rap and produced my very first beat. I self released my first track called “Right” via facebook and literally got an overwhelming response. That day truly motivated me to keep going with being creative, Fast forwarding to now, i have much to be thankful for on my current journey because I’ve developed and accomplished so many things within this time frame and i wouldn’t change much,

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Im a multi faceted artist based out of milwaukee wi currently. I rap, sing, produce, and dance. I come from a background of creative parents as much from hip hop to classically trained. I believe i can create any type of music i feel to do but if i had to say, the genre related to my music would be hip hop/EDM/R&B. I released my first project self entitled, “Oshi” in 2019. From there, i was constantly booked for performances in the Midwest, granted collaboration opportunities and opened up a way for others to support my goals by noticing how good i am and what i had to offer. That project is still a treasure to me because i went through a lot on downside and this project in a way told me to “ push forward “ and i did just that. So I’ll always be proud of it. I have gone on to perform, be on the news, Featured on Billboard, do features and even been in my first film. Im truly grateful for where im going and growing. I think my charisma and my love to do what i love most importantly, for me is what sets me apart. I want to encourage and be able to share my personality through my music and just be me and share my vibes with the people that like that. MY goal is to always stay passionate, everything else does truly follow.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part to me is performing. I love seeing people in the crowd bopping because they’re feeling the vibe. That makes me want to keep giving ‘em more you know (laughs). Yes, im grateful for the people that stream me but you really gotta see me because i like my audience to truly feel my vibe. In a way it’s like getting to truly understand the music because you’re seeing the emotions of the person performing the song, i love it.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to be happy with doing what i love and who im doing it for. My family of course and in loving memory of my brother, Levarius R. Mitchell. We lost him in 2021 to gun violence. A beautiful young man so that hit me hard but knowing the relationship we had, i had to keep going for him. I will have an anti gun violence foundation and another in honor of my brother with education and financial literacy. Knowing i have this goals and the support and the love, I can see it all coming true for me. Im just going to continue to trust my process and my work ethic and keep going towards where i see myself, not where people think they want to see me.
