The Nothing But Nonsense Podcast, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?

We’ve certainly had struggles since the initial launch of our podcast. Going from an idea to a reality is a big leap. It takes active communication and planning. It all started with Andrew’s dream to start a podcast one day. Andrew presented his dream to Dawson. And Dawson took that dream and gave it a vision and a plan. We soon realized our idea would be better with a 3rd member. Matthew was brought into the project to help bring a more dynamic range to the podcast episodes.

That left one piece remaining. A podcast mic to record our nonsensical sessions. So, the plan was finally put in motion on Black Friday of 2018. We ventured to a media store and snagged a high quality mic within our budget.

Once the gang was finalized and put together, it was time to record. The Nothing But Nonsense Podcast was born. But it nearly died right off the bat.
We recorded a total of 4 episodes before parting ways for over 3 years.

College, jobs, and location caused the separation of the group. Recording became difficult and inconvenient until we all graduated and figured out a more remote way to record.

After college, we were able to take the lessons we’d learned from our educational programs and apply them to the restart of our passion project. On June 13th, 2022 The Nothing But Nonsense Podcast was reborn and rebranded. Thanks to softwares like Discord, Canva, and Anchor, the podcast was able to thrive better than ever before. We have since created more than 54 episodes of content and amassed thousands of listens across numerous platforms. We’ve even launched our own merch.

Nothing But Nonsense isn’t just a name or a brand, it’s what we talk about. Our vision is to make podcasts that anyone can enjoy. Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad, son, or daughter. It’s a podcast for the whole family.

We talk about anything and everything. Which is why our mission is to make every episode feel like you’re a part of the conversation.

All 3 members of this podcast are very different people, with very different perspectives. This allows for us to have a wide range of topics. We pride ourselves on the range of subjects and games we bring to the table.

We like to think of ourselves like the Seinfeld of podcasts. Seinfeld was the show about nothing. We are the podcast about nothing. Which means you could enjoy just about anything we talk about. And if you don’t like one thing, there are plenty of other subjects you can jump around to.

We love taking recommendations on what we should talk about. And we love bringing new guests on. Interacting with fans is one of our favorite parts about doing what we do. It’s a podcast for our listeners, so naturally we should listen to what they have to say as well.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.

We all met at a very young age. Our families were friends through church. And we had the benefit of growing up along side each other as a result. As we became adults, we grew into our personalities. And our personalities lead us to create our passion project together.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Word of mouth and guerilla marketing have been great strategies for growing our brand. Creating appealing graphics that start conversation has also helped our brand create an identity that is easier to share. Our graphics have a stylization to them, that help each episode and merch item stand out and stay within our brand. This has helped grow our social media as well.
