We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Charlie and Shelby a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Charlie and Shelby, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

Our most meaningful project has been starting our entire social media page as a whole known as The Mystified. Since we are long distance best friends, creating and recording our memories has always been something really important to us and it is something we are very passionate about. Since we were little, we loved to document our memories and take lots of pictures so we never forgot the big moments or even the small ones as well. When we began to throw around the idea of being content creators, it just fit because our project allowed us to have a place to show our most valuable memories and share them with all our viewers and store them somewhere for safe keeping that the rest of the world gets to enjoy with us.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

For people who have never heard of us, our names are Charlie and Shelby and we are content creators on our profile, The Mystified. We create content on many different platforms such as Instagram, Youtube, TikTok, and many more! We got into the industry because we both love social media, photography, and showcasing our daily lives. We would always make jokes in high school about how we thought we should have a reality tv show because of how unique we are. That is why we do what we do. We have been long distance best friends for 14 years and having a friendship for that long is something that you don’t find everyday and it is something very special. We are two girls with the same mind and we have so many interests and values in common are we have worked hard to get where we are today. We are proud of how far we have come on all our different social media platforms and how amazing we have become as women pursuing higher education and prestigious careers while as doing the things that we love which for us is The Mystified.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

We want to build a large audience base who supports us and enjoy our content for what it is and see all the work that it takes to do something like this. We want to inspire people who have goals like ours and we want to be able to share our memories with others and connect with people who might share our interests and values as well. We also hope to someday be able to work on The Mystified as a full time job and make a profit off of all the work and time we have put into it. We also hope to collaborate with brands we love and work with them as well.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is that we have creative freedom and are able to take our work in many different directions. We get to see things that we are passionate about do well in a very competitive area of work and style and it is very rewarding to see others get as excited as us about the things that we love.
