We were lucky to catch up with Jerry Mitchell recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jerry, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
My company, Jet King International, is a luxury travel concierge service specializing in booking Private Jet travel for celebrities, professional athletes, C- level executives , and other high net worth individuals.
The thing that sets Jet King International apart from other private jet companies, is personalized service tailored to fit each specific customer’s needs. Jet King not only offers private jets, we offer luxury & exotics car service, catering, armed security, and limousine services. Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m Jerry Mitchell Jr. , I attended the University of Arkansas where I played football for the Arkansas Razorbacks. I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree in Communications and a minor in Business.
After college I pursued a career in professional sports working in the NFL and MLB front offices, before making the transition into the private jet business.
When I first entered the private aviation industry in 2016, I noticed that African Americans are underrepresented, and since then, my goal has been to create more opportunities for African Americans and other minorities. Whether it be pilots, mechanics, engineers, flight attendants, sales people, or executives.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
At Jet King International, we are known for paying extreme attention to detail, understanding what clients’ expectations are, and executing plans to perfection. We truly believe that each of our clients deserve to be treated like royalty, and this is the factor that keeps customers coming back. It is not easy to maintain such a reputation in a rather competitive industry, but I am determined to be a pioneer for fellow African Americans and minorities who would like to pursue a career in the private aviation industry.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
My background in professional sports working in NFL and MLB front offices enabled me to leverage new connections and build relationships with prominent athletes, entertainers, and CEO’s transitioning into the private aviation venture. I knew that networking was going to be the best investment in my business. With every new interaction, I marketed himself, my abilities, and my desire for helping people. Jet King International is an outcome of effort, sincerity, and patience. Attributes that seem to attract new customers to consider utilizing our services.
