We recently connected with The Fronks and have shared our conversation below.
The Fronks, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
In November ’23 we meet up for our first practice in our drummer’s basement as a four-piece band. Over the next year we added a sax player who soon moved away, we changed bass players a couple times, and added different lead guitarists to the lineup twice. The first of those lead guitarists left the band a week prior to what would have been our first show. In a bittersweet turn of events that show got cancelled 3 days before it would’ve happened anyway, which opened the door to us bringing on our current lead guitarist for our actual first show at Boxland.
Getting a consistent group of people to show up to practice week after week has been one of the hardest parts of starting a band.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We’re a five-piece band from Columbus, Ohio. We haven’t been playing out a lot yet, but our promotional marketing has landed us a show in each month through October. Many of those shows are festival spots that we are very proud to have secured within our first year of playing out.
Our first music video for our song, “My Dinosaur,” is being produced by Bands In The Bus. Much of that footage was recorded at our first show at Boxland by Bands In The Bus and Gabriel Goulding.
We recently got to open for our friends, The Cane Toads, at ToadFest and it was an honor to warm up the crowd for our amphibious brethren at Summit Music Hall.
Our focus moving forward is to put our energy into these upcoming gigs and finishing recording for our debut EP.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
We are excited to be applying for a GCAC Funds for Artists grant this year, to help fund recording our first full length album. We wish we had known about this resource in previous years. It’s a great resource for any artist in the Columbus area.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When we joined each other for our first practice in our drummer’s basement, I had an entirely different idea of what this band would be. I originally wanted to put together a live band for myself to rap to, but I didn’t want to stifle the creativity of anyone else in the band, which is what led to the creation of what we are today.
