We’re excited to introduce you to the ladies behind Wild Halo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with them below.
Hi ladies, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
It started on the lake. Picture early mornings on Lake Austin — lake like glass, the sun reflecting off the water, boards in the racks, and oversized hoodies pulled over damp swimsuits. That’s where the idea was born.
We realized there wasn’t a brand that really captured that duality we were living — the stillness of drifting out on the water and the wild rush of dropping the rope and riding free. The lake was our second home, but when we looked around, the style options felt too surf-coastal, too polished, or too generic. Nothing felt like us.
So we built it. Wild Halo is designed for the girls who are authentic, carefree, bold and a little bit rebellious — who can be soft and strong, playful and grounded. We knew it would work because the community already existed; we were just giving it a wardrobe and a voice. The logic was simple: if we were craving this kind of apparel — sporty-soft, lake-authentic, cheeky but elevated — then so were thousands of other women.
What got us most excited was seeing the spark in other girls’ eyes when we shared the idea. They instantly got it — that Wild Halo wasn’t just clothes, it was a mirror of the lifestyle they were already living. It felt less like starting a business and more like giving a name and a style to a community that had been waiting for it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are three moms and friends who learned to surf together on Lake Austin. Back then, the lake wasn’t just water, it was our escape. School, kids, work, whatever stress we were carrying — the second we dropped the rope, it all fell away. Those days stitched us together, and they also sparked the soul of this brand.
We noticed there wasn’t a brand that captured what the lake really meant to us. Surf culture leaned coastal, fashion felt too polished, and nothing mirrored the balance we were living: soft and strong, playful and grounded. So we created Wild Halo.
Wild Halo celebrates the power of duality—because life isn’t just one thing, and neither are we. The lake is calm, serene, even a little ethereal. But ride the wake, and it’s wild, sexy, and untamed. That perfect balance of stillness and energy, grace and grit—that’s the essence of Wild Halo. That’s what draws us to the lake and riding the wave every day.
What we’re most proud of is how this vision turned into more than just a brand — it became a community. Wild Halo isn’t about fitting into one box; it’s about celebrating every side of yourself. That’s the invitation we extend to every girl who throws on a hoodie, drops the rope, and steps into her own halo.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When we first launched our company, the brand was called SRF ATX. We poured a year into it — designs, sourcing, our first drops. Then reality hit: a big coastal clothing brand out of California blocked our trademark and sent us a cease-and-desist.
It could’ve sunk us. But honestly? That moment became fuel. Instead of seeing it as the end, we treated it like the beginning. We asked ourselves: what’s the bigger vision here? Do we just want to be “surf in Austin” or do we want to capture the lake-life feeling that exists everywhere? Our brand will always be rooted in Austin, but lake life is global.
That’s when Wild Halo was born. Not tied to one zip code, but connected to every girl who’s ever dropped the rope and felt that rush. The pivot wasn’t just a name change — it was a chance to create a brand with soul, movement, and room to grow far beyond our own backyard.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What helped us build our reputation was showing up in person. We started small — local pop-ups where we could actually meet the girls buying our pieces, hear their stories, and talk about the brand face-to-face. From there, we got invited to be a vendor at local and regional professional surf competitions, which gave us an even deeper connection to the lake community.
The more time we spent out there, the more we realized how much this world had been waiting for a brand like Wild Halo. The community welcomed us with open arms, and that energy fueled us to keep growing. At the end of the day, reputation isn’t built in ads — it’s built in those dockside conversations, the high-fives after a surf run, and the shared love for a lifestyle we all live and breathe.
