We recently connected with The Finch Family and have shared our conversation below.
The Finch Family, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I think everyone in The Finch Family knew what they wanted to
do from day one. We were all born wanting to play music. The Finch Family is a family that sticks together and plays music together no matter what is going on in our lives.

The Finch Family, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are in California based band now, but we all started out in Boston, Massachusetts. A couple of us went to Berkelee Scchool of Music in Boston and a couple of us had already lived there. Friendship and fate brought us together. Liz Borden and Kelly Johnson already had the Finch family going and they knew Gregory Hogan. Greg knew Pamela Ledbetter and the rest of history. When our guitar player Phil Suarez was asked to join another band, the Finch Family needed a new member and that was Pamela. Greg had met Pamela and brought her to one of the Finch family shows and it all clicked. Pamela met with Liz had a private audition and they hit it off.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Show up at live shows, buy merchandise, buy the songs online, promote and talk about us! Music is very different than it used to be. There’s so many artists and musicians out there and it’s so easy to self promote nowadays. So every creative person, no matter what your art is needs to support and help from all the people around them. We need you to show up. We need you to post about us. We can’t do this without you.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I think our goals and our mission has changed throughout the years, but at the same time, our vision and goals have been consistent. I think years ago we played to draw a big crowd maybe make some pocket change, sell some music and have fun. We all enjoyed playing together. That hasn’t changed except I think we have the same goals, but we play more for ourselves and hope that everyone likes it. It’s what we do. It’s the best therapy ever. It’s friendship and family. It’s bringing all of our families together. We’ve been through so much since we first started. But the love of music and the love of each other is still there.
