We were lucky to catch up with The DeCantillon Venue Team recently and have shared our conversation below.
The DeCantillon Venue Team, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The story of The DeCantillon didn’t start with a wedding or an event at all — it started with an office. Nearly twenty years ago, our father, Reed Miller, moved his family business into a small building on the river in North Little Rock. For years, that riverside office was more than just a building. It was where our family came together, where we learned the value of hard work, and where all seven of Reed and Kasey Miller’s children would eventually play a role in helping the family business grow into what it is today.
But as our business grew, we began to outgrow our little riverside office. That left us with a dilemma: how could we expand the business while also honoring the building that had been at the heart of our story since the very beginning?
We tossed around ideas, some practical, some far-fetched. But the one that stuck was both exciting and deeply meaningful: transforming our office into something entirely new — a wedding and event venue. The more we thought about it, the more it felt right. The riverfront setting, the legacy of the building, the chance to create a space that would bring people together in moments of joy and celebration — it all clicked.
And so, what began as a simple office evolved into The DeCantillon on the River.
Our family’s fingerprints are all over this project. Reed and his wife, Kasey, raised seven children who all played a role in shaping both NIBC and now The DeCantillon. In fact, part of the venue — The Katherine House — is named in honor of our mother, a reflection of how central family has been to this journey.
Bringing this vision to life has been nearly three years in the making. We’ve worked with caterers, wedding planners, rental companies, and local businesses to carefully curate a venue that feels timeless yet unique, elegant yet welcoming. Every choice we’ve made has been with one question in mind: how do we create the perfect space for people to celebrate life’s biggest moments?
Now, The DeCantillon is finally coming to life. Construction is underway, and we’re preparing to open our doors in April 2026. What excites us most isn’t just the beauty of the space — it’s the legacy. A building that once housed our family’s business will now hold the memories of countless other families, couples, and communities.
For us, The DeCantillon isn’t just a venue. It’s a continuation of a story that began decades ago, a story of family, growth, and creating something that lasts.

The DeCantillon Venue Team, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The DeCantillon is a family endeavor born from the vision of seven siblings—Bob, Scott, Paige, David, John, Steve, and Brad Miller—who decided to come together and reimagine their family’s original office space as a gathering place for the community. What once housed our family business has been transformed into a versatile event venue where we now host weddings, corporate functions, and celebrations of all sizes.
What sets The DeCantillon apart from other Arkansas venues is first and foremost our location—nestled right on the banks of the Arkansas River with stunning views that create an unforgettable backdrop. We’re also proud of the flexibility we offer to clients and vendors alike, ensuring that every event can be personalized and stress-free. From the ground up, we’ve put careful thought into every detail of the space, with the goal of creating an experience that feels both welcoming and seamless.
Right now, we are most proud of how our vision is coming to life. The venue not only reflects our Arkansas roots but also pays tribute to the French heritage that runs deep in the history of North Little Rock. For us, The DeCantillon is more than just a venue—it’s a space that carries forward our family story while opening its doors to new ones.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Launching our social media presence was an entirely new venture for us. We began by creating our accounts and connecting with as many vendors, family friends, and local businesses as possible to start building awareness. Because we had spent nearly three years planning before construction even began, we were able to use that time to spread the word to anyone who would listen.
In the early days, we managed all inquiries directly through Instagram and Facebook messages. Once our website went live, our inquiries—and overall online presence—began to grow more quickly.
From the beginning, it was important to us that our social media reflected our brand identity: professional, polished, and visually consistent. To achieve this, we partnered with local vendors for drone footage, custom invitations, and styled “flat lay” photography. These detail shots and invitation images are used on both our website and social feeds, creating a cohesive and recognizable look. We also share weekly video updates to keep our audience engaged and involved as we get closer to our building being complete.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Since our social media launch in June, our socials and website have been steady sources of new clients, helping us generate inquiries and schedule tours. But the biggest driver by far has been word of mouth and the chance to share our story in person.
We were fortunate to have plenty of time to spread the word about The DeCantillon through family, friends, and our wider community before our online presence even launched. That personal network has been the defining factor in bringing in clients who feel genuinely connected to our space. While our website and social media—live for just a few months—have already made a significant impact, it’s the relationships and conversations that have truly built the foundation for our growth.
At the same time, our social media and website have opened doors to incredible connections with people and companies who are excited to share our story with others. We’re so grateful for that support, and we can’t wait to see how our online presence continues to grow and expand our reach.
