We recently connected with The Artist Dub and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, The Artist thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
Art and anything artistic is a natural for me. I actually started drawing and painting at the age of seven. People would always have me draw them things or write poetry. From there, I continued throughout high school, winning numerous awards. Life happened and I stopped for a while. It wasn’t back until a few years ago, I faced some health issues and a disability and I started back. It was a very trying and emotional time for me. I had to sit back and think, what could I do to get through this and get back healthy. I went and bought an easel and some art supplies and started back painting. It helped me so much! You wouldn’t believe it! At the time, I was just doing it for healing purposes and as part of my wellness program. I would then move on to turn it into a business as well. I can paint all day and night because I love it! Art is so important. It heals, it paints a picture, it tells a story, it is fulfilling and it has no boundaries!
The Artist, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Actually, a family member told me that I am too talented to not share and sell my art with the world, so I went into business. I sell hand-painted art on canvas, I do commission artwork, and I sell artwear, which is my artwork on clothing. *All fashion in my pictures is my artwork. I also create art for Visa Card. I have clients in the music industry, television, medical field, law field and other clients. What sets me apart from others is that all of my artwork is hand-painted by me. I am a nature lover so I go outside and paint. I also don’t confine myself to one art form. I create all art forms. Also, when you commission me, I bring whatever you want to fruition. All of my artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. I treat my clients with the utmost respect. I take that very seriously. I make sure that everything is done in a professional manner. I have never had a disappointed client.
I thank GOD for my natural talent to create. I am very proud of that.
At Moonlit Brushes, you are able to buy originals if they are not yet sold, prints of any artwork on the website. I create tshirts, clothing and I have commission artwork services as well, such as cover art, portraits, mural art, wall art, home decor for your home or business.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist/creative is that it is so healing! Also, being able to express, imagine, create and teach others about art. Turning a blank canvas into a work of art is so amazing! I also teach an art class and have taught art to special needs children for the city’s arts and cultural affairs.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with my clients via email or telephone. Loyalty is naturally a part of my character, so when it comes to how I treat my clients, that is what they would get. They also know that they will get professional services, honesty and integrity. I expect the same thing as a client/customer. Visit my website!
