We caught up with the brilliant and insightful The Artist Aesthetic a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
The Artist Aesthetic, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
At the moment, this project, The Artist Aesthetic Tour, is our biggest project and main focus. What makes it so meaningful is that it stems from a vision that we, as a group of artists, have had for ourselves. The goal for this tour was to craft an experience that resonated not just with the audience, but with us as creators, performers, and music lovers – something that we as artists would want to be a part of. Making it real and being able to share it with other artists and fans makes this a huge deal. Some of us organizers have been in the business of planning and promoting events for years, so we now have the opportunity to take all we’ve done and make a massive multi-city tour that has everything: Live performances by talented rappers, singers, musicians, DJs, producers, and other new and special live events; plus raffles, swag, and lots of vendors and merch to continue to support local artists and businesses.
If you’re looking for a great live experience, new music, fun venues, and good vibes, check out our tour dates and locations and meet us there. We’re exploring new locations, touring fresh venues (while stopping at and honoring familiar favorites), and putting the spotlight on an array of dedicated artists who absolutely deserve their time in the limelight.
The tour kicks off on Friday, September 1, and runs all the way through November. Come to our events, booked all throughout The San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, Ventura County, and beyond!
We’ve put a lot of thought and care into this to create something great, and we’re excited to share it with everyone. What we’re proudly bringing to the people is art, beauty, fun, meaningful entertainment, and authenticity.
The Artist Aesthetic, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Members of The Artist Aesthetic all started in music as writers, singers, lyricists, or producers. As artists inspired by the world around us as well as the world within us, we choose music as our expression. Words, beats, and melodies are the tools that help us forge our styles and our identities. Members have evolved over time to extend into performing, event planning, and artists and media relations. We’re dedicated to our growth as artists and feel it’s important that we don’t ever limit ourselves. That mindset has brought each of us great achievements and a growing sense of alignment and fulfillment. This tour has been cooking in our brains for a long time, and we’re ready to bring all of our hard work, experience, connections, and expressions together with other great artists to give you The Artist Aesthetic Tour. We definitely stand apart from others who try to do what we do. Over the years, we’ve worked with lots of other artists from various backgrounds and with different styles. We seek out special talents that stand out and we have curated shows with stellar talent lists. Performers, promoters, and venues have also sought us out, as members of the group have become known for their events and collaborations. We’ve helped make great connections not just for ourselves, but amongst other artists and businesses. We take pride in being advocates for those we work with and making sure that they walk away knowing they have a system of support. We also help them to facilitate connections with artists and businesses so they can continue to grow independently as well. We’ve witnessed great things for ourselves and others through this line of work, and we’re excited to have an event of this magnitude and see what else will stem from this tour.
We’re proud of everything that got us to this point, and we’re proud to do what we love, and what we want to do. The freedom of expression, and the freedom in general is a huge appeal for us when it comes to this art. Want to write, sing, perform? Done. Want to record music, release tracks, and make ranks? Done. Want to plan a 3-month long, multi-city music tour with an array of performers? Done. It’s that easy. Actually, it’s easier said than done, but it’s still amazing to have this desired vision which is The Artist Aesthetic Tour, come to life.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
It takes a lot for artists to conjure up all our ideas and feelings, materialize them, and then courageously share those unique yet universal expressions with the world. While we don’t do it for validation, it’s amazing to know that there are people out there who listen to our songs, come to our shows, and vibe with our vibe. A way that society can support artists and help creatives grow is just by showing up, in every sense of the word. Showing support, curiosity, and an open-mindedness toward the diversity of art and expressions out there. The artists that will be performing on this tour all have different sounds, with different genres, styles, and forms of expression. Part of the reason we all came together to create this tour is that we respect [each other’s] art and the simultaneous struggle and growth that artists must endure in order to produce their passions. We wanted to create a platform where these expressions can be made freely, and audiences can come and connect. Art is meant to be shared and enjoyed by all, and so we invite audiences to come and explore our events, and walk away with a new experience.
Audience participation is what makes art complete. Being exposed to new and great art inspires others to create, share their creations, and share the work of others that inspire them. The result is the spread of art in the world for more people to connect to and be inspired by.
A lot of what we, as artists, provide to fans is free to them. In return, society also has a treasure trove of ways to give back that don’t require a dime. Society can help to keep creative ecosystems growing and thriving through simple acts, such as sharing some songs with a friend, subscribing to a YouTube page, or connecting with artists on social media platforms. @TheArtistAesthetic.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Our goal as artists, and organizers for The Artists Aesthetic Tour, has always been to grow organically by building a true connection to audiences. As artists, we grow by staying dedicated to our work, and working hard to keep the creativity moving and flowing day in and day out. We mentioned the challenges of taking those visions and feelings we have and turning them into tangible expressions for audiences to take in and experience. The work that goes into all of that is extensive, as well as expensive: Studio sessions, bookings, rehearsals, equipment, and so much more, go into creating and polishing our art as well as these events. Unfortunately, we live in an economy where art is not prioritized. We’ve seen how it negatively influences artists and creatives to become more concerned with getting compensated monetarily, than valuing their art and authenticity. They even distance themselves from their audiences by doing that.
We’re proud to say that The Artist Aesthetic stands apart from all of that. It’s part of what inspired us to make this tour what it is. As the title says, it’s all about the artists and highlighting each one’s unique expression. We want to remind the artists and the audience what all of this is about by creating spaces for us to all come together and celebrate that.
A price cannot be put on the efforts, expressions, and experiences we provide, and we aim to be fair to our artists, as well as our audiences. For this reason, artists love working with us and choose us over other organizers. Our audiences know that our events are the real deal, and for that reason continue to show up, show out, and support us and our vendors.
Art for the people, and by the people.
