Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tharah LaFrance. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Tharah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
If I could go back in time, I would have started my creative career sooner. I started performing at open mics when I was 17 years old in Miami. I’ve always sang in church and school choruses. However, the serious pursuit didn’t strike me until I was in my late 20s. Hindsight, I would have taken more advantage of my youth and connections to get further along in my creative career.
Tharah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started performing when I was really young, and I wanted a platform that was different from the events that I was going to. I didn’t feel as welcomed or uncomfortable because I wasn’t a professional. A partner and I teamed up and decided to create a platform where local artists can practice and share their art no matter at what level they were.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish I took advantage of YouTube in its early days. I know that I could have gone viral plenty of times if I had started recording earlier and putting more effort in promoting my talents using the online platform.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part about being a creative is being able to connect with people across all genres and walks of life. The music industry opens an avenue for different types of people to collaborate under one vision.
