We were lucky to catch up with Thania Rodriguez recently and have shared our conversation below.

Thania , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, one thing many business owners consider is donating a percentage of sales or profits to an organization or cause. We’d love to hear your thoughts and the story behind how and why you chose the cause or organization you donate to.

At Glowssy Whites we specialize in brightening our clients smile by offering Teeth Whitening and Tooth Gem services in the DFW area. We also love to brighten our furry friends lives! Glowssy Whites is a small business that loves helping others. On March 2022 we made a great decision of donating a certain amount of our sales to a few Non profit organizations that specialize in helping dogs/cats in needs. There is a high raise of cases of people dumping dogs or cats in the streets or found in critical conditions. With this donations non profit organizations can cover their vet bills, food, toys, kennels, transportation and more!! Big thanks to all our clients and students for supporting my dream and also helping our furry friends! This couldn’t be possible without you!!

Hello friend! My name is Thania Rodriguez I’m a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). I love helping others achieve the smile of their dreams! I been working in dentistry for about 6 years. Dentistry is a very fun career, I love educating my patients about the importance of taking care of their teeth and oral health. Dentistry can also be a little toxic and stressful if we work in the wrong environment. This was the main reason why I started Glowssy Whites!
I started my small business from the bottom, I had 0 clients, followers, connections or people willing to support me other than my family.
Owning a business can be hard at the beginning but we just have to trust God and his timing. During this journey I have met amazing people , I’m thankful for all the opportunities I had.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

When I decided to take a training to start offering teeth whitening services, I never thought that I was going to be where I am right now. Glowssy Whites started as a hustle. After working in toxic environments I decided to take the class just “to try it” I always used to say – Well if it works it works if not at least I tried it! I don’t know where I would be right now if I didn’t took that training! Starting my “side job” opened a lot of doors for me and I really love what I do! I get the opportunity to meet new clients, set up my own schedule, simply to be my own boss and that is the best feeling!

How did you build your audience on social media?

Growing my Instagram page was not easy! One thing that helped me was referrals, tags, shares and building connections. My advice for those starting is – Don’t be shy social media is a great resource to promote your business and it’s free! We all spend most of our time in our phones, be creative, active, consistent and patience.
