We recently connected with Thais Saenz and have shared our conversation below.
Thais , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
While I was at home, engrossed in a podcast, I overheard the business owners proclaiming that the most beneficial decision they had made for their businesses was to hire a virtual assistant. This statement intrigued me, as I was unfamiliar with the concept and it lingered in the recesses of my mind. Later, when the Covid-19 pandemic struck, I found myself on a four-month maternity leave. During that time, the memory of that phrase resurfaced, prompting me to conduct further research. I discovered that I aspired to offer more than just automated virtual assistants who perform tasks. Instead, I wanted to provide virtual administrative support with skilled professionals who bring critical thinking and add value to our clients. Armed with this newfound understanding, a surge of determination engulfed me, leading me to make the decision: “You know what? I’m going to embark on a business venture. I’m going to establish a virtual support company specifically tailored to the construction industry.”

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
With my passion and experience in the construction industry, I knew that this was the field I wanted to focus on: it was my forte, my domain. Having accumulated eight and a half years of experience in the stainless steel industry, I found my love for the world of construction through that journey. Once everything was in place and our operations up and running, we had the opportunity to work with a roofer and it was an instant connection. We were captivated by the roofing industry and had a deep sense of affinity for it. After careful analysis and discussion, we heard that call and made a firm decision to exclusively support roofers. And that is precisely what we do now!
At Saenz Global, our mission is to assist roofing contractors in alleviating administrative challenges, enabling them to reclaim their time and increase profitability. While they concentrate on roofing projects, we take care of the back-office tasks. Our extraordinary team of roofing administration specialists liberates you from administrative burdens without the need for micromanagement or any fear of dropping the ball.
Saenz Global is driven by the belief that our purpose revolves around assisting people, by delivering to our clients an exceptional support service that has a positive impact on their lives. Our aim is to contribute to their happiness, enabling them to cherish moments with loved ones, pursue hobbies, and relish free time. I can confidently affirm that we accomplish this goal because we genuinely care about our clients. As we frequently emphasize, what holds significance for our clients holds significance for us. It is in this inherent dedication that our distinctive essence lies—we genuinely care.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
It’s an interesting anecdote: Maria McMillan and I attended the same university, yet our paths never crossed as we were pursuing different fields of study. However, fate brought us together after graduation when we both found ourselves working at the same company. Collaborating closely, we forged a strong friendship. It seems everything fell into place for us to meet at that precise moment, as if life orchestrated our union at the perfect time.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Actually, there isn’t a specific backstory to this realization. It’s more of an insight that I gained through my work experiences, one of those moments of clarity when you become aware of something and carry it with you as a valuable lesson. In this case, I had to unlearn the misconception that everyone is a potential ideal client. It’s not necessary to cater to everyone or provide a product or service that appeals to a broad audience like Walmart or Target. Instead, you can narrow down your focus and excel within a specific niche. This lesson has been incredibly valuable to me, and I’m grateful for the understanding it has brought.
