We recently connected with Thai Nguyen and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Thai thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
What do I think it takes to be successful? Success for me has been not being afraid of failing. I learn from my failures. I take those failures and apply them to what I am trying to do. Success can come from the first time or the hundredth time. It’s a process. You must be able to be patient and not stop trying.
Thai, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
The side hustle is real. There were days when my clients waited for me to get off from my daytime job to help them after hours. I continued to work that way for years. I was grateful and humbled to be able to do it. I remember one time after working a full eight hours from my daytime job and I had to drive two hours to meet up with a client. I walked in smiling big and was eager to help resolve their problems. After I finished resolving the problems, my client sat me down and said, “Why aren’t you doing this full-time?” The amount of money you’re making driving and helping them out was more than what I made working 8 hours earlier in the day. They told me at that time that I was too comfortable. They knew I had a guaranteed income. They advised me to take a leap of faith, and that they knew I would be able to work fewer hours and make the same amount of money. This client is now my mentor. The key milestone that helped me to go on my own was the birth of my 2nd child. My wife was dealing with postpartum depression and on top of that she had to have hernia surgery just a month after giving birth to our child. My family had supported me for years in working on my side hustle. They knew I sacrificed family time to be able to provide customer service to my clients. I become a better father and man by stepping up to support my family during this time of care for a newborn child. For the first time, I was able to be there for my family. My clients urged me that they would support myself and my business so that I can have more time with my family. Through word-of-mouth from my clients, I started to build relationships with their clients, friends, and family. To this day, my referrals are all word-of-mouth. I have not done any social media or marketing for my business. I’m grateful and humbled to say that if you take care of your clients with the best customer service and solve their problems, you will receive one hundred times more in return.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Right now, my source of new clients is word-of-mouth referrals. My dedication to providing the best customer service has entrusted my current clients to refer my business to their clients, friends, and family members. The power of word-of-mouth is receiving real options from the people you already know like long-term clients, friends, and family members. They share experiences and give their own opinions.
