We recently connected with Texas Tre Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Texas Tre, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with talking about how you serve the underserved, because in our view this is one of the most important things the small business community does for society – by serving those who the giant corporations ignore, small business helps create a more inclusive and just world for all of us.
As a community leader and businessman it’s extremely important to my family and I that we become a bridge in connecting the business community, community leaders and volunteers across Texas to resources that makes sustainable impacts to the lives of families and individuals in need.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Texas Tre Williams a community leader and businessman.
I’m co-founder of nonprofit organization Inspiring Lives Inc. with my wife Tameka Williams.
Inspiring Lives Inc. is an organization that provides resources to families in need through food distributions, financial literacy, housing partnerships, back to school drives, youth mentorship, and higher education resources.
We believe in inspiring the lives of others through partnering with other organizations and community leaders that positively impacts families.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I’m an inner city kid raised in a lower income household by my grandmother Marilyn Hill who taught me the importance of love, faith, family, work ethic, determination and focus.
These principles resonated in me as a businessman and community leader today.
I’ve learned in order to be successful it doesn’t matter where you come from, but it does matter how hard you’re willing to work to make an impact.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I started in the property management industry in 2004 and didn’t have the best leaders when I started which didn’t create positive consistent habits for my professional career, but I made up in my mind that I wanted more than just a job.
I wanted to create a career of future successes that would open doors for others while being a positive impact in their lives.
I can truly say at this stage of my career, that I’m intentional about being what I needed early in my career to others when I was in their position.
This is what creates a successful culture for all to grow in a changing climate.
