We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tevin Tavares. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tevin below.
Alright, Tevin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
To me, legacy is a form of everlasting magic. It is something that transcends time and leaves an imprint on the world for generations to come. As I reflect on the legacy I am currently building, I am confident that it has already been solidified during my time on this earth. The art that I have been blessed to create has already achieved its purpose – to inspire thousands across the globe and ignite the next generation. When I wake up each morning, all I care about is leaving a positive impact before I depart this world. How can I ensure that my art conveys my passion and soul? How can I invite others into my mind and show them my vision? And once they have seen it, how can they take it and use it to make a lasting difference in the world?

Tevin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Growing up in the Bay Area has given me a unique perspective and set me apart from others. The cultural richness and diversity of this region have shaped my mind to think on a different level both artistically and intellectually. It wasn’t until I went to college at the University of Oregon that I truly realized the impact of growing up in the Bay. Surrounded by creative individuals from all walks of life, I was able to form meaningful friendships and channel my passion for filmmaking into creating art that would reach millions around the world. Once I discovered my love for film at 18, there was no turning back. The process of collaborating with friends and bringing a story to life on screen felt like a spiritual experience, something bigger than myself working through me. Every project I’ve worked on over the past decade has been an exhilarating out-of-body experience, shared with the world and those closest to me.
Through my work, I have had the privilege of helping individuals tell powerful and impactful stories that leave a lasting impression. These stories not only achieve their goal but also elevate their brand on both artistic and emotional levels, leaving a lasting impact on their audience’s hearts and minds.
In today’s world, I feel that we are lacking soul. This sentiment is deeply felt by those close to me as well. That’s why my mission is to bring soul back into this world through the stories I tell and the art I create. In every project I take on, my goal is to follow three key words: Artistic, Authentic, and Commercial.
Artistic – How can I make this project visually stunning and aesthetically pleasing? How can it provide freshness to its viewers?
Authentic – How can I ensure that this project resonates with people on an emotional level and feels relatable? This may involve telling a story that touches them mentally, physically, and emotionally, leaving them with a heartfelt feeling after experiencing something true to the human experience.
Commercial – How can I make this project reach a wide and diverse audience on a global scale? How can it have a universal appeal and be relatable to people from all walks of life, rather than targeting a specific niche?

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most fulfilling aspect of being an artist is recognizing the profound impact our art and stories can have on this world. Throughout history, art has been a means for individuals to express themselves and connect with others through various forms such as music, storytelling, and painting. It’s a powerful form of communication that has the ability to inspire and empower people to face whatever challenges life presents them with. As artists, we carry a great responsibility; people not only seek entertainment from us but also hope to be inspired in some way by our work.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
In my opinion, the key to building a strong reputation over time is creating art that is timeless. Art that is both genuine and tasteful. Art that can resonate with diverse audiences around the world, regardless of their race. My goal is always to create works that evoke emotions in people long after they have finished viewing them. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to produce art that has stood the test of time because I am dedicated to telling stories that have a lasting impact on our world.
