I started my psychiatric service dog non-profit organization because I saw firsthand how mental health struggles can deeply impact the lives of those we love. Several of my family members were battling anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges, and it was heartbreaking to witness the toll it took on their everyday lives. While searching for ways to help, I learned about the profound impact service dogs can have on mental well-being. This inspired me to create an organization that trains service dogs to support individuals facing similar struggles. I wanted to offer a compassionate, life-changing resource to those in need, just as I had hoped for my own family.

Tevin Austin, a devoted husband and father, has a deep passion for understanding canine behavior. With years of experience in dog training and behavior modification, he has developed a unique ability to connect with dogs on an intuitive level. His expertise allows him to identify the root causes of behavioral issues and create personalized training plans that promote balance and harmony between pets and their families. Tevin spent four years working as a veterinary assistant, where he developed a deep passion for animal care and an impressive skill set. His love for dogs and desire to help others inspired him to take a leap and start his own dog training business, which he has successfully run for the past four years. Recently, Tevin took his dedication a step further by launching a non-profit organization focused on training psychiatric service dogs for people suffering from mental health challenges. I’m incredibly proud of the impact our psychiatric service dogs have had on the lives of people facing mental health challenges. Watching individuals gain a sense of independence, confidence, and emotional stability through the support of these highly trained service dogs has been both humbling and inspiring. It’s a powerful reminder of the life-changing potential our work holds and knowing that we’ve helped improve someone’s quality of life is what keeps me driven every day.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I make it a priority to stay connected with my dog training clients long after the initial training sessions are over, fostering lasting relationships and brand loyalty. I regularly check in with them to see how their dogs are progressing and offer continued support if they face any challenges. Through personalized follow-up calls, emails, and even social media updates, I ensure clients feel valued and part of a community. Additionally, I host workshops, provide exclusive training tips, and offer access to resources to keep them engaged. This ongoing communication helps build trust and creates a sense of loyalty, as clients know they can rely on me for support even after their formal training has ended.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What has helped me build my reputation in the dog training market is a combination of trust, consistency, and a deep understanding of both dogs and people. From the beginning, I focused on delivering personalized, effective training solutions that addressed each dog’s unique temperament and each owner’s specific needs. I also made it a priority to communicate clearly with clients, ensuring they felt supported every step of the way. Over time, word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied clients became one of my greatest assets, as people recognized not only the quality of the training but also the genuine care I put into each partnership. My commitment to results, transparency, and treating every client with respect has been instrumental in building a strong reputation.
