We recently connected with Tetiana Vasyliuk and have shared our conversation below.
Tetiana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
It all started one evening back in 2018, as I sat at a restaurant table in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. I was still on maternity leave, reflecting deeply on what I wanted from my life and career. That night, something inside me shifted. I realized I didn’t want to go back to my previous job — I wanted something more. I dreamed of building something of my own. A business. A brand. A future I could shape with my own hands.
And that’s the moment Laser Time was born — at least as an idea.
From there, I took action. I enrolled in professional training in Kyiv, studied everything I could about laser hair removal, and soon after, opened my first studio in Zaporizhzhia. The studio quickly became a success. I served hundreds of happy clients and built a loyal base — it was clear that people appreciated both the results and the care I provided.
Then, everything changed. The war broke out in Ukraine. Like many others, I was forced to leave my home and start over. I moved to the United States and chose to begin again — this time in Texas.
Starting a business in a new country wasn’t easy. I had to learn the legal system, licensing, marketing — all in a new language and culture. But the mission stayed the same: helping people feel confident in their own skin.
Today, Laser Time is thriving in Texas, and I’m proud of the journey that started with a single decision back in 2018 — a decision that changed everything.
Tetiana, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those who may be hearing about me for the first time — my name is Tetyana, and I’m the founder of Laser Time, a laser hair removal studio and training center now based in Texas.
My journey into this field was born not just from professional curiosity, but from a personal transformation. Originally, I had a background in accounting, and I worked in finance in Ukraine. But after becoming a mother, something changed. I began to question whether I truly loved what I was doing — and the answer was no.
I wanted more. I wanted to create something meaningful, something that would give others confidence and allow me to express my passion for beauty and care. That’s when I discovered the world of laser aesthetics. I went through professional training, opened my own studio in Zaporizhzhia, and built a thriving business with hundreds of loyal, happy clients. It felt like I had finally found my calling.
After the war started in Ukraine, I made the difficult but necessary decision to relocate to the United States with my family. I had to start from zero — new language, new laws, new community — but I brought my skills, my experience, and my unwavering belief in my mission with me.
Today, at Laser Time, we offer:
• Professional laser hair removal services tailored to different skin types, especially Fitzpatrick 1–6;
• Skin treatments, including intimate peeling and electrolysis;
• Hands-on and online training courses for beauty professionals;
• Workshops, certifications, and even industry championships to support and empower other estheticians;
• And soon, we are launching our own skincare line developed in collaboration with European labs.
What sets us apart is not just technology or technique — it’s care, personalization, and results. Every client that comes to Laser Time receives deep attention, honest recommendations, and a clear plan based on their skin and goals.
I’m also incredibly proud of my educational work. I’ve trained dozens of specialists, written a book about laser hair removal, and help aspiring estheticians navigate licensing in the U.S. I believe that when women support each other in business, incredible things happen.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and Laser Time, it’s this: we’re here to help you feel confident in your own skin — and to inspire other professionals to do the same
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I build loyalty through personalized care, consistent results, and honest communication. I always follow up with my clients, educate them about the process, and make them feel seen and valued. Social media helps me stay connected daily, and I offer loyalty rewards and VIP cards to show appreciation. Most importantly, I treat every client like a long-term relationship, not just a one-time visit.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word of mouth has been my most powerful source of new clients. When people see real results and feel truly cared for, they naturally recommend me to friends and family. Referrals, combined with my presence on Instagram, have helped grow my business more than any ad ever could.
