Tessa, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, let’s jump into one of the most exciting parts of starting a new venture – how did you get your first client who was not a friend or family?

My first client was a former colleague. My business specializes in assisting designers by creating high-quality 3D interior renderings to help them present their designs to clients. With over a decade of experience in the interior design industry and a background working at various design firms, I developed a strong professional network. Leveraging these connections, I reached out to past colleagues and received an overwhelmingly positive response. One designer immediately entrusted me with a rendering project, which led to ongoing collaborations and numerous successful renderings since then.

Tessa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

With over a decade of experience in the interior design industry, I have worked on a wide range of projects, from residential to commercial spaces. Having been involved in every phase of the design process, I discovered my passion for transforming concepts into 3D renderings. Knowing I wanted to start my own business, I chose to specialize in 3D visualization to support busy interior designers by providing high-quality renderings that help them present and sell their designs. What sets me apart is my keen attention to detail and firsthand experience as an interior designer, allowing me to anticipate design needs and accurately represent spaces without extensive direction. This creates trust with my clients and keeps them coming back!

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

There are many resources I wish I knew about earlier in my journey. But it was only possible as I progressed in my business and gained more experience, I continuously refined my skills in creating high-quality 3D renderings. The ability to adjust countless elements within a rendering to achieve a realistic and visually compelling result was something I learned through hands-on experience. When I compare my very first rendering to my most recent work, the transformation is night and day.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

Fortunately, starting my business did not require a significant amount of capital. With a solid amount of savings, I was able to invest in the essential equipment needed to begin creating 3D renderings. My initial investments included a high-performance laptop, the software for building 3D models, and a rendering program to generate high-quality images. Since then, I have incorporated additional software to further enhance my rendering capabilities and improve the overall organization of my business.
