Tess, appreciate you joining us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?

My dad always spoke about “working for yourself.” He instilled in my sister & myself the idea that we could have an idea & execute it in reality. He did that in his own life & reinvented himself time and time again. He had some business that worked and a couple that didn’t but he never questioned his path & always kept his head down. We were & are proud of him & he is the person we go to for all business advice!

Tess, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I have been a Holistic Esthetician for 15 years, starting my career in New York City. My sister Sadie & I opened our first Take Care location in the East Village, 2009. Those early years I spent growing my practice & expanding my knowledge on the body – mind connection & how the skin is affected by gut health & overall wellbeing. We opened our second location in Venice, California in January 2020. We have since closed our flagship, shortly after pandemic.

I am known for anti aging, restorative treatments that address hyperpigmentation, sagging skin, fine lines & lymphatic drainage in the face & body.

I am known for my signature Microcurrent + Buccal Massage Facial. This facial is 75 minutes and focuses on lifting, tightening & building collagen in the skin. My price is $275 and longest lasting results are acquired with monthly treatments.

I use my microcurrent machine, LED light & my favorite tool of all… my hands!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

The pandemic was so hard and I think keeping the business going through that, has been my biggest flex so far!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

It took 10 years and a lot of consistency but I believe my followers for @takecare.bodymind are all engaged and interested in learning about holistic skincare & that was always my goal. To spread knowledge and provide resources!
