Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Terry Nashed. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Terry, appreciate you joining us today. One deeply underappreciated facet of entrepreneurship is the kind of crazy stuff we have to deal with as business owners. Sometimes it’s crazy positive sometimes it’s crazy negative, but crazy experiences unite entrepreneurs regardless of industry. Can you share a crazy story with our readers?
The craziest thing that happened to me in a real estate transaction was trying to get rid of an enormous safe that was in the seller’s garage. My buyer did not want it and since I was representing both parties, I had to find a way to get that thing out of there! It weighed almost 1,000 pounds! I had to hire a professional safe mover to pick it up which I paid for from my commission. It was worth it because both my clients were happy when it was removed!
Terry, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a native of Southern California. I was born and raised in LA to parents who immigrated from Egypt, and I speak Arabic fluently. Buying my first home with my husband in San Diego ignited my interest and passion for real estate. I have a legal background where I graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and received a Juris Doctor in 2010. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Long Beach in 2006. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering with a non-profit organization called “Roads of Success” which provides humanitarian support to women and children in the Middle East who are victims of war and persecution. As a San Diego resident, I enjoy exploring this beautiful county with my husband and two kids. Whether it is finding a home, finding the best loan, or helping a client get the most out of selling their home, I am here to guide buyers and sellers with all their real estate needs. Having a legal background helps explain the complex contracts that are involved in a real estate transaction. I enjoy explaining the terms and conditions to my clients thoroughly and being their biggest supporters throughout the process.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Referrals. My past clients trust me and the services I provide so referring me to new clients has helped grow my business.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Yes the Altman Close is a great book. I love Josh Altman’s work ethic and energy when he represents his clients. This has helped me get out there and talk to people about what I do and how I can help them in real estate.
