We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Terris Harper a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Terris thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?

“Success in the lash industry—or any industry, for that matter—comes from a blend of passion, dedication, and adaptability. For me, being successful as a lash artist over the past five years has meant continuously learning and evolving with the trends while staying true to the core of what my clients want: personalized, quality service.

A big part of my journey was understanding that this business is not just about applying lashes—it’s about building relationships and trust with each client. There was a turning point early in my career when I had a client who was extremely nervous because she had heard some horror stories about lash extensions. Instead of rushing her through the appointment, I took the time to educate her, addressing every concern. She walked out feeling empowered and confident with her lashes, and to this day, she’s one of my most loyal clients. That experience taught me the importance of connection and patience, and how much these qualities contribute to long-term success.

I also believe that being open to new techniques and constantly improving is key. As the owner of Label Me Lashes, I strive to push creative boundaries and innovate in ways that enhance the client experience while maintaining the integrity of my brand.”

Terris , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Terris Harper I’m a 27 year old entrepreneur, & licensed Cosmetologist born in Saginaw, MI.

I wasn’t always an entrepreneur, like many I was taught the traditional route. Somehow I found myself not happy and continuing to quit so I started to look up industries and fell in love with Lash Strips which one year later had led to me becoming a FT lash artist !

Being most proud of myself for never giving up and staying disciplined throughout the years and seeing my company grow with only me in it is an amazing feeling! Also to my clients who have been on this journey over the years with me, without them I wouldn’t be much 🩵

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Being consistent & being myself. Taking responsibility/ having integrity

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Being consistent and showing up! Every successful person says this & sometimes I think we believe we are “ consistent “ but consistent isn’t just about posting on social media. It’s having a consistent lifestyle as well!
